Crown Resorts Horizon Hotel

Spent a wonderfully relaxed week at the Cali Resort. We arrived very late, but were warmly greeted, and in our room there were fresh sandwiches and a fruit platter waiting for us. As it was a birthday, the hotel also surprised us with a beautiful cake and a chilled bottle of fizz. We knew the hotel had been open just under three weeks when we arrived. We love Coral Bay, have stayed in other hotels there, and also in the town of Paphos itself. We had high hopes for this Louis Group hotel as we have stayed in two others. We were not disappointed. All of the staff work hard, are friendly and we were given the best service at all times by the restaurant and reception staff. We are especially grateful to Viktoria who was always present making sure guests were happy and comfortable, and seeing to any minor issues that arose. Food in the dining room was exceptionally good, varied, always fresh with lots of choice and different every day. The patisserie was to die for, and unlike in many other hotels where the desserts can be bland, the cakes and sweets tasted just as good as they looked. Drinks were good and top shelf spirits were always available on the AI. The head chefs were also out regularly to oversee their stations and were very keen to see how the guests were enjoying the selections, and what they liked best. Fresh carvery every day lunch and evening, and beautifully fresh salads were among our favourites. Pool bar also served up great snacks, the chicken tenders and fries were a real favourite with all the guests that we could see. Pool area is lovely, and the water was a lovely temperature. Lots of beds available, inevitably the over-pool beds got snaffled up early by the towel placement brigade, but that is guest behaviour not the hotel's fault, although I suspect if it continues they will implement a policy to enable a fairer sharing of those beds. Room and bathroom were perfectly good, and bed was super comfy with a mattress topper, and we are hard to please in this respect. We had a side sea view room (full pool view and plenty sea to see out there!) and we did not hear any noise from the bars on the main street, which surprised us given the close proximity so that's another plus. Air conditioning was very effective and maintained a comfortable temp throughout our week. We had one small problem when our safe failed, but it was fixed instantly. All we had to do was report it and someone attended right away (and this has happened in several other hotels we have stayed at so this is hardly even worth a mention.) Overall this is a very good hotel, with a relaxed and chilled vibe, with staff who are happy to do whatever they can to make your stay enjoyable.
