Unique property with every room being different in shape size and style . Very well maintained and green place . Staff is very helpful and service oriented . Only challenge was they have these lights in front of every room which is supposed to go off in night post 11 pm but two out of three days that didn’t happen and lot of light seeps into the room and makes it difficult to sleep if you are sensitive to light while sleeping . Other than this the stay was pleasant and we loved the place .

Amazing experience! We stayed in a beautiful room located in front of the garden! We were charmed by seeing monkeys eating oranges! Monkeys were all over the place but they didn’t do any harm to the visitors! An elegant coffee shop adjoined by a sleek bar were the highlights ! Foods were mouthwatering and the staffs were polite and courteous! Trees were the sentries in this property and a slice of hill view added a great view! Birds and flowers were your company allthrough ! We enjoyed every moment at this heritage hotel! Highly recommended!

We came from Singapore for a short holiday and Gateway Coonoor turned out to be an outstanding property to experience the best of Coonoor and the Nilgiris. We were surrounded by nature, colonial history and the warmth of their friendly staff. The rooms were tasteful, comfortable with lots of garden chairs in the patio to enjoy a coffee or read a book. The food was amazing with some great local delicacies. Evin - their staff member is a local expert and took us for a lovely nature walk into the rolling mountains with pine forests , tea gardens, spotting Bisons ***** the way and ending with the All Saints Church that was originally a part of this Taj property. Don’t miss Evin’s nature walk if you have the opportunity! Overall Gateway Coonoor was a fairytale like experience and I would go back at a heartbeat again!

I have a lot of dietary specifications due to health issues. And rarely eat outside. But from the moment my mother called the Taj, her call was supportively handled by Leona at the front desk. She did not show any hesitation and took down our request and said that a dietary specific meal can be effortlessly curated. When we arrived at the property, the location was breathtaking. And the service at the restaurant was seamless. Chef D. Ramalingam came to our table and took down my specifications in person. And a delectable lunch of moong da khichadi, prawn fry, fish fry, and Nilgiri Kai curry was served. All the dishes did not lack in flavour even though they had to be prepared less spicy, and without onion, garlic, pepper, and tomatoes. Thank you 🙏Taj continues not to disappoint✨ I highly recommend this place to all those who want to have a memorable meal when in Coonoor✨

My stay at Gateway Coonoor was truly remarkable, thanks to the exceptional hospitality and care provided by the staff. I have specific health-related food restrictions, and I was pleasantly surprised when the Chef Ramalingam,took the time to create customized meals that catered to my needs. This level of care and attention to detail is rare and much appreciated. A special mention goes to Duty Manager Mr. Kamesh, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. Understanding our health concerns, he even provided us with a rare fruit known for its medicinal properties—an incredibly thoughtful gesture that we will never forget. His kindness and helpfulness truly made our stay comfortable, Mr. Nithesh miss Liona also deserves recognition for taking us on a tour of the hotel and explaining the property's features. Gateway Coonoor is not only beautiful and impeccably clean, but it also offers unique experiences like the evening bonfire. The ambiance was further enhanced by a talented musician who played the piano and guitar, creating an enchanting atmosphere. Every aspect of our stay was perfect, from the courteous and sweet staff to the overall experience. I highly recommend Gateway Coonoor for anyone looking for a memorable and luxurious stay. We will definitely be returning!

I had the best trip. The staff was so warm and went out of their way to accommodate our requests. The property is charming and feels home like albeit with the ‘Taj’ like hospitality and charm. Two staff members who were particularly helpful were Mr. Sanjeev from the front office and Evin who took us for the nature walk in the morning. Mr. Sanjeev was always available, helpful with his recommendations for what to do around the area, making bookings with restaurants and coordinating with the in house dining and housekeeping to ensure we are served in the best way possible. We had a great trip and I’m definitely going to return at the property with my family.

Excellent Resort. Everything about the place is just awesome, to Staff, Cleanliness, Reception, Food, Ambience, The place is quiet and relaxing and is a must visit for busy professionals. Ideal place for Families, Look Forward to coming again with Family.
