Don’t ever book with these people. The talk the talk but don’t walk the walk. I booked a 3 bedroom executive villa for the Easter break with my family and got a 3 bedroom standard villa instead for the same price. (Number 28). When asked about this I was told there must have been miss communication. My booking specifically state a 3 bed exec and was told by Deb that it was only 20 stairs to one open plan living area. We ended up with 2 flights of stairs with bedrooms on one level and living area on another. This was a catastrophe as my wife had 2 knee replacements and was confined to one area most of the time. In addition I booked and paid for a 2 burner BBQ and was given a one burner hotplate!! When I enquire about this they said they don’t know as this is what they have and I would be refunded. We are only hoping. To make up for this we were given a bottle of complimentary wine. Needless to say we could not use the BBQ at all and it was just taking up space on the balcony where there were a cheap set of plastic outside table and chairs. The main bedroom had 2 single beds push together to attempt to make a queen bed. Needless to say the bedding didn’t fit. The place is VERY dirty. Dead bugs and dust on top of the fridge where we were suppose to find the WiFi password. This was located on the microwave as the top of the fridge was obviously to dirty to put something on. Both main bedroom and family toilet seats are loose. Lots of dirt under the beds show that the place is not maintained properly. Would I recommend The Point Coolum Beach? NO !!

Ramada by Wyndham Marcoola Beach

The suites are large and well equipped. The sea can be seen from the balcony. Great place for vacation. The sun is warm during the day, you can go to the pool to play, and go to the beach for sand and surfing before sunset. The sand here is particularly delicate and it is very comfortable to step on the soles of your feet. There are also facilities such as jumping swings for children to play, suitable for the whole family. There is a large parking lot, a gas station, two small supermarkets, and a pharmacy across the road.      Special Note: There is no room service here, you need to go to the front desk to change towels and replenishing toiletries.

As a couple we stayed in a one bedroom apartment with a partial ocean view. Kitchen, dining & lounge together, separate bedroom with king bed, separate bathroom combines with laundry. Though the apartment was a little dated it was clean, comfortable and had all we needed. There is a reasonable sized balcony. We could park under the building. There are trolleys there to use and a lift. Next door is a good restaurant - Canteen Kitchen - and another cafe two doors down. A few hundred metres away is the main shopping ***** where there is a good fish & chip cafe. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again if we are in Coolum.

We had a great time at Coolum at the Beach . The units were spacious and very clean and comfortable. There was even a complete clean half way through our stay. The pools were enjoyed by all the family.

There was no one at Reception after 4pm. There is no hard copy Welcome Pack Compendium with assumptions made people forced to use a mobile phone to scan it onto their phone. Too bad if you are not au fait with that! No sign up or Information in writing in unit as to who to call if confronted with loud unruly guests screaming into the night. Night manager apparently only answers in house calls and goes to bed at 10pm. No cash accepted at the premises. Pillows thin and uncomfortable Bedroom small and poky Building echoes and conversations from basement are heard up the lift shaft to 6th floor. After phoning reception to report loud screaming at night and footsteps running, slammed doors then more screaming and running put through to message bank. Nothing on message to say call down on in house phone to reach sleeping night manager. Brushed off at reception, they did not look into it as ‘no one else reported it and it may have been anywhere’… Confronting feeling there was no one to call when feeling more than uncomfortable with screaming person nearby. As previous reviewers mentioned only positive position and a sea view. Lacksadaisical attitude unacceptable at a premium price.
Coolum Budget Accommodation

We booked a twin room with ensuite for 2 sisters. Room was clean and had coffee/tea making facilities as well as a small fridge. Beds were comfortable. There was reverse cycle air conditioner. There is also a shared kitchen for guests although we didn’t use this but it looked clean and well stocked. I was pleasantly surprised to find an iron which I used. The first time we stayed I accidentally left my AirPods in the room which the cleaner handed in. The only downside is there is limited parking and we had to park on the street. Despite this our stays have been pleasant with no noise at night. There is a pool which we didn’t use on either trip. This accommodation is definitely our go to place if we travel to the Sunshine Coast.
