Reflections Tower Two

We have been staying at Reflections for many years, never have we had a bad experience until this recent trip in room 803. Arrived to find the previous guests damp smelly bath towels piled up on our kitchen bench. I hastily placed them outside beside the lift bay which is where they remained for the following 2 days. The gas strut on the entry door to the apartment was broken and the door would slam violently, very dangerous if a hand or finger were to get in the way! The water dispenser on the fridge was covered in mold, it was filthy! Hand prints all over the glass in the bathroom. The furniture....wow, please make an effort to update if you want these prices, it resembled a nursing home, a dated recliner couch and the strange table/bench I am not sure what this was, no art work..it was bland..no holiday vibe at all. Fortunately the view was as stunning as always, we did spend most of our time out on the deck, the outdoor furniture could be improved, so much space and only one small table. Not sure if we will take a chance again at Reflections, there are others along the ***** that might be worth a try.

Paid $5000 to stay a week here over new years and had a joined booking with another family. My friend was told when she made her final payment our rooms would be close together/ in the same floor but weren’t and “there was nothing they could do about it”. I made my peace with that as we collected our keys by a unwelcoming receptionist thinking hey I’m sure it’s just a short elevator trip to go visit our friends. Well they failed to mention you can’t even access any other floor with your key. Only lobby or swimming pool. Massive downer! But anyway we went to check out our room for the week only to be smacked in the face with the most putrid cat pee smell as soon as we opened the door to our room. It was like there were urine stains in the carpet and the smell just lingered unless you kept all the doors open at all times. Sleeping at night time was particularly disgusting though since I made sure all doors were locked as our kids slept in the room beside the balcony. There weren’t any other rooms available so we reluctantly stayed in that room. The unwelcoming receptionist with long black hair was particularly rude to my shy daughter who politely asked for her the code the restroom one day. She said that rest room is not part of this hotel! In a very abrupt manner. 5 mins later we saw her walk into the toilet herself. That frustrated me. Why was she so rude to my daughter about using the communal restroom and then using herself moments later??? There is no restroom in their lobby which I find weird if you are going to give people a hard time about giving the code to access the communal toilet. In summary I’d say, the room had a lovely view of coolangatta, the apartment smelt vile, I didn’t care for the black oppressive furnishings in a beachside hotel room and the staff were not friendly or welcoming. It’s a great location but I can’t see us ever returning to this hotel again. **If the staff ever get to read this review I think we stayed in room 1509 right beside the lift - the smell in this room really needs addressing if you wish to continue renting this room out.

We have stayed in 4 bedroom apartment several times. Excellent location, eateries closeby. Disappointed this trip. Dirty utensils in drawer, coffee machine not working, steam oven not working, smelly drains in 2 bathrooms, no instruction manuals for appliances and unable to find manual on google. Hair in drawer of dressing table in 1 bedroom and clothing tags found in drawers in 2 bedrooms. Apartment could not have been cleaned prior to our arrival. We were on 12 th floor and painter was lowered to our balcony around 1130 one morning to paint balcony - we were not notified. Could have been an awkward situation. 5 nights for $5.000 plus, we would have expected better. Sharon

Lovely view and a very relaxing experience. Very accessible to shopping area’s restaurants and cafes. One of the best Beaches across the road with a great view of the entire Gold Coast *****. Beautifully lit up at night. Bed and pillows perfect .

This is the most disgustingly dirty, poorly maintained accommodation I have ever stayed in. Do not believe what you see in the advertising photos because what I saw is definitely not what I got. Had I read the numerous other scathing reviews before booking I would have gone elsewhere. While the cleaning manager came and attempted to address some issues, most were not a quick fix. The apartment we stayed in, 1503, needs a major overhaul as many furniture items were broken, damaged and not what was advertised. The apartment had not been cleaned properly in a very long time, was not fit for habitation and should never have been let out. The most disturbing issue is the fact management do not seem to care. While reception staff were apologetic, I waited a month for a response from management to numerous emails detailing the issues. Of particular concern is the mould permeating the apartment. This is unhealthy at best and the cause of respiratory illness at worst. Like the many other unfavourable reviews, there will likely be a response from management to this review apologising for the inconvenience and poor experience. That’s not good enough. This resort needs a visit from the Queensland Health Department. Here are some of the sub standard issues I raised with management: 1. Toilet seat has cover missing where it attaches to bowl 2. Flush button on toilet very hard to depress and sticks 3. Soap dish in shower caked in soap and mould 4. Slats missing under mattress, so no support at head of bed so sleeping downhill 5. Filthy on floor behind bed head and bedside tables including thick dust and cobwebs 6. Bed head and base very scratched and worn 7. Wiped my hand over wall above bed head and it was covered in thick dust 8. Cockroach ran across floor and under bed on first night 9. Glass shelf in shower loose, sloping away from wall and toiletries fell off breaking lids 10. Drain in shower mouldy and corroded 11. Drain in floor beside bath mouldy and corroded 12. Shower hose caked in disgusting mould. Cleaner tried to clean this leaving a strong bleach smell we had to live with 13. Mould on roller blinds 14. Couch worn and uncomfortable. Seat Cushions have lost a lot of padding as well as arm rest 15. Disgusting food scraps, mould, crumbs and nail clippings under couch cushions 16. Scratches along the tinting of doors onto deck 17. Stains on coffee table 18. Fridge/freezer dirty inside with food scraps and sticky residue on shelves and vegetable bins. Also ice trays won’t turn and dispense ice 19. Gas cooking burner caked with cooking spills 20. Oven control knobs have settings worn off. No idea what temperature or setting oven was on. Gas hob knobs also no indicators as to which gas ring they operate 21. Plastic drinking tumbler was pitted, probably been used as an ashtray! We discovered this after giving a child a drink in it 22. Annual visits to Reflections Tower 2, over 11 or 12 years now. Beautiful, clean unit, high floor, ocean view as requested when booked last October, staff helpful and friendly. We bring our own top up supplies. Great location, will be back for the 13 visit next year!
