Desert View Apartments

This is a great place to stay in Coober Pedy. A very nice underground appartment close to everything. The only slight downside was that the wifi only works outsite the room (it can't penetrate the rock), but the manager says that will be fixed soon.

This property is in need of a refurbishment, but was clean and beds were comfortable.

Well where do I start. . This is an apartment style accommodation with multiple rooms. Let's start with the bathroom. The wall was falling down, there was an old used soap bar on the ground in the shower and the hot water lasted about 4mins. Lounge, well a blast from the past with old dirty recliners. Kitchen had parts of the wall skirts missing. The second bedroom didn't have a working light. The whole accommodation was covered in a later of dirt or dust. Acknowledging its the desert but there was a sign stating of you didn't clean and put away your dishes you would be charged a fee for "additional" cleaning. It's funny to charge for additional cleaning when the standard is set pretty low.

So bad experience Broken kettle, couldn't have a tea even No aircon remote, didn't use aircon No spoon even to make a tea No plate even to have dinner, no inhouse dinner, had to go out, shame shame Bathroom was very dirty Two person went, only one glass was there, even charged 190.00 per night No microwave oven even to heat it up my bread

Stayed for the night on our way to Uluru. It was very easy check in. Run down but that's the outback experience. The room was clean and it had everything you need for a short stay. The sunset from the street was amazing.

A bit rundown but genuine dugout with a pool and BBQ area. Kindest most lovely helpful manager and cleaner. This the real Coober Pedy Beware though Coober Pedy does not have a taxi service. You need to work out airport transfers before you leave
