Bluebird Lodge

Once again, another fabulous stay. Owners go above and beyond to provide everything you could need for your stay. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. We took our Labrador on the stay and he was well received by the owners big jar of biscuits for them and towels in entrance. There is plenty to do in the area, lovely walks and lake on the door step, which has a cafe and toilets.

2 night stay. The room was large with good sized bathroom. I made an error and accidentally booked for one person instead of 2 but this wasn't a problem for the owner. It's a short walk from Coniston but not really a problem. Parking on site. I am up at 5.30 every day, so was going to have a lie in and miss breakfast, so the owner suggested a packed breakfast which was a nice touch. Would recommend.

Bluebird Lodge is a great place to stay. We have stayed in a room previously and this time an apartment. Both are very clean and the apartment well equipped ( home from home). The breakfasts are excellent, great choice. Tracy and Michael are lovely hosts so friendly and welcoming.

Booked to stay here as we were attending the bonfire and firework display at Coniston Sports and Social Club, and wanted to stay local, in an independent B&B. The location was spot on, a short walk to the town centre, and to the lake itself. The room was clean, and the bed was nice and roomy! A full bathroom is always nice, with a shower over a bath, just what you need after a day's walking! Tracy and Michael are great hosts, very knowledgeable of the area, and things to do, places to eat. Breakfast was a good selection of cereal/fruit/cooked items, with fresh coffee bubbling away. Parking on site is always a bonus, and would stay here again if in Coniston.

Lovely quiet and clean B&B. Room 4 was perfect for 2 medium sized dogs having fair amount of floorspace and being a few feet from the front door allowing for quick nips out for night time toileting! It was nicely furnished. Breakfast was lovely with a good choice. Hosts couldn't be friendlier. Only very minor improvement I would hope for would have been that dogs could be taken into breakfast room instead of being left in room. Luckily our two are not troubled by being left alone for an hour. Oh, and the small TV made watching England beat the Dutch less enjoyable! (Wouldnt have worried us if hadnt been for the football!) That said, would definitely be back. Great views and only 15 mins from Cafe on the lake.

Mike and Tracy were so very kind and helpful. The Bluebird Lodge is very clean and quiet and the breakfasts - especially the sausages - were lovely. It is just outside the village and right next to the (Coniston Inn) 505 bus stop so very handy. We went over on the SY Gondola to see Brantwood - which was also very nice . Next time the Old Man perhaps!
