YHA Coniston Holly How

Good stay at this YHA. Great location, about a ten minute walk from Coniston and not far to the lake. Set back in lovely woodland, nice, peaceful location. I was able to park up early and enjoy my time in Coniston before check in. I stayed in a private room which was very clean and although not en-suite, plenty of clean toilets and showers nearby. The staff here are lovely and very helpful. Great cafe facilities and options for meals. Good kitchen and social areas too.

A great few days in a Land Pod at YHA Coniston Holly How. All the staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming. Great breakfasts as well. Everywhere was spotless, A real pleasure to stay.

Yha Holly How is a lovely old converted building, a very short walk from Coniston village and the lake. The hostel is clean and well maintained. Staff are friendly and the food and self cooking facilities good. The hostel has 2 lounges, dining roomand lovely outdoor balcony seating area. Camping at Yha hostels is always great because they are in fairly rural locations, with stunning views close by. And, you have all the facilities of a hostel (to charge your phone, cook, relax in the lounges). All for about £12 per night / £20if you book the all you caneat breakfast. For me ( with my little boy) it was £30 per night with bfast. Evening meals at the hostel cost about £10 less than the local pub. Tent camping is on the small lawn in front of the building, by the car park. Not the best views from the tent but quick n easy to unpack and repack your car. Views around Coniston are amazing. There is a coop, other shops and pubs along with childrens play park close by. There is a bus stop very near but buse services are limited.

One of the most disgusting , gloomy and disturbing places I’ve ever been. To start off they happen to turn off the heating when the staff leaves at 10pm, and it gets FREEZING cold. We booked for two nights, we fought through the cold for the first night, but we had to leave before 12am on the 2nd night , couldn’t make it till the morning in a freezing cold room. It was absolutely freezing and with my condition I was coughing up a lot trying to sleep in the cold. Secondly , the showers were built like damn coffins , dirty and old. And the bathrooms felt like the door could’ve broken down any time , you could hear everything that someone was doing behind there with those old ripped doors, like what type of privacy is this? And just saying for anyone who wants to get here, then photos you see that they posted are all faker than you can image . None of the rooms even look close to that . They are old, with ripped walls, no proper heating, mattresses that felt like rocks and I’d be here all day saying it. And mentioning it again , we HAD to leave a whole night early because it was freezing and we didn’t want to die . Word of advice, if you want to go on holiday or something, don’t choose this ******* house cause it be straight outta a horror movie .
