Logis Hotel du Chateau

This hotel was ok, and the staff were pleasant but it wasn’t entirely to our taste. We were in a room at the back of the courtyard, which in itself was fine, but the trek to get there wasn’t great. All the way through the hotel and a shuffle through a lengthy dining room with all our luggage - then outside again and through a slightly overgrown courtyard with uneven ground was q bit difficult. We then found out once we got there, that we could actually get the car round there and into the courtyard to almost outside the bedroom door - it would have been nice to have been told on arrival - this made a big difference to the departure early the next morning - which I’d been dreading. I’m glad we were in the ground floor as the stairs from the courtyard to the dismay floor looked ‘challenging’. I’d definitely not recommend it for anyone with mobility issues- It was clean and ok value but I wouldn’t rush to return there

We stayed as a couple for three nights and we had booked a room with a 180cm width bed (Superking size) as that is what we are used to at home. So when we arrived at our room (14) on what was a beautiful sunny day, we noticed that the bed was a queen size, 5ft not 6ft and it was very dark inside the room despite the sunshine outside. This was because we were alongside a road where there were tall trees opposite. We had to switch the lights on even though it was a beautiful sunny day in early July! We spoke to the lady on reception about the size of the bed who argued that it was a 6 foot width and also said there were no other rooms available so we remained put. The towels were thin and old looking and no soap was provided. The shower was over the bath. A note on the bathroom wall asked that if possible guests did not request clean towels ‘to save the environment’However the towels were so thin they got quite damp from just having a shower and there was no way of drying them since the towel rail in the bathroom was plumbed in and was switched off. So we requested clean towels each day. After seeing the prices being charged for dinner we decided to go elsewhere. The L’Angevine restaurant just a short walk on the other side of the lake was perfect. Breakfast was a standard continental choice but the coffee was from a machine so not ‘fresh’ and the hot water from the same machine if you wanted to make tea, was not very hot. We won’t be staying here again.
