Myself and my friend came for a catch-up. This was only the 2nd time I've eaten here, yet my friend has been coming for years. We both had the killer chicken and it was great. When the meals came out, they were hot + fresh. We also had a desert (choc fudge cake). Again was delicious . I recommend this place , as I will definitely be coming again

I went for food with friends like we had done many times before. However last night I asked the waitress about the curry of the evening beef madras I asked her was it spicy she replied yes quite, we also asked about the pie of the day beef. My friends ordered and I ordered curry I thought I would take a chance………very disappointed did not have a spice at all it didn’t smell like a curry the meat was tender but it definitely was NOT curry. I actually think the chef had put beef stew on the rice.

Omg this was our 4 visit and this place just keeps improving. Granddaughter and I had the Sunday roast oh can not begin to tell you how tasty it was. Hubby and grandson had the steak pie and mash. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a fantastic 2 hours there. Highly recommend this place.

Walked in to have a quick drink whilst awaiting a train. Stood at bar nearly 10 mins, with others waiting too, whilst FIVE staff were 'dithering' around the restaurant area'?! All were vert miserable, no eye contact or smiles, whatsoever! Worst customer service I've experienced in a long time!! Plus on asking for a half was given a pint, and repeated "was a half please" to a sullen hmph response. Staff seemed disinterested, and not a good overall experience or vibe. Then told on producing my card (not before ordering), that there was a minimum spend of £5, at which point I gave up and left and will not be returning. Had dropped in on say so of a friend to see what was like for future food visit. But glad I didn't waste my money.

Stopped off for lunch and it was absolutely delicious. Had to wait awhile as a big party arrived at the same time but it was definitely worth the wait. Had Cajun chicken ciabatta with salad and chips. Meant to be a light lunch but it was a very generous meal and we’ll worth £7.95. Would recommend.

With 5 days notice I asked for a free cancellation of a 3 night booking due to me being unwell (covid diagnosis) As it was for a family visit I would be rebooking in the future. The hotel were completely unhelpful - no empathy with my situation or that b.com had a £295 charge if I did it online. I had to get b.com to phone them and 2 days later they still wouldn’t offer a free cancellation. Still got charged for one of the 3 nights. I’m afraid they’ve sacrificed future loyalty

Just got home from an amazing 3 night stay here, we stayed in the King Deluxe street view room and wow! It was so comfortable and plenty of space. Had everything we needed in the room and more…hairdryer/iron & board/tea coffee facilities as well a coffee machine! Oil heater, fan and dehumidifier were all in the room for all eventualities. Breakfast was included and wow it was just perfect, cooked to order, good selection and endless tea/coffee. The Bacon was excellent! Service was just brilliant, welcoming, friendly and helpful. This covers all the staff, nothing was too much trouble for them, they were all friendly, helpful and a credit to the owners. We also ate in the evening on site and again cannot fault it, the Chefs steak pie was scrumptious, full of meat, handmade pastry and served with very good gravy. We loved the random decor of the pub, so much to look at it, I am sure you could never see it all. Definitely visiting again soon. Thank you making our anniversary such a pleasant time on such a dreary wet/windy January.

Went for a family sunday dinner, without a shadow of a doubt the worst l have ever had The beef was tough difficult to cut with a knife let alone chew The desertspoon of mashed pototo was awful Mashed carrots with green bits in Pureed cauliflower cheese was like bread sauce and a grey colour The whold dinner was cold, l did ask if it could be reheated and it was put in the microwave for a couple of minutes, nobody bothered to ask if it was ok now, Certainly not abplace l would visit again
