Super 8 by Wyndham Waterloo

the staff was very accommodating and the room was nice, but could tell that it had previously been a smoking room.. we'll make sure the next time we aren't on the third floor!!

My friend and I decided to go here bc we're visiting a friend in Iowa and she met with me here from Texas. Our room was decent enough (minus some screaming children nearby lol). Only problems were a few stained towels. Staff was nice and gave me an extra pillow for my neck. Only other thing was, my friend used her family's Wyndham account points to get the room, and they charged her for a previous night she didn't have the chance to check in for, and the pricing through the site is not accurate for what TripAdvisor says unfortunately. All in all, good if you're staying a night or two. Staff was helpful and kind in replacing what was needed. Just mind the noisy screaming kids banging on the walls and pro tip, bring your earplugs or earbuds to play white noise connected to your phone 😂

This hotel is very nice, clean, and quiet! The room was free of trash (haven’t seen any evidence that a person has lived in our room before) and there are no bugs, although it might not be a problem considering I was on the upper levels. Everything smelled nice and free of smoke so no problem with that. The bathrooms were also very clean and there was no mold on the shower curtains. They serve breakfast from 6:30-9:30ish, which is very nice. There is a bar that has muffins, coffee, tea, a waffle maker, cereal, etc. The staff was very friendly and helped us get situated quickly!

Room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Floor was dirty and needed to be vacuumed and there was urine on the toilette seat! I expect a room to be at least clean when I arrive. That is not too much to ask for. The front desk staff were pleasant however I asked to not be next to elevator doors and of course that is where I was put.

As one of two options in Waterloo IL I chose the Super 8. It is as far from super as the earth is from the sun. Possibly farther. Checked in and walking to our room noted the hall carpet was in desperate need of a vacuum. Entering our room we noted the carpet there was in desperate need as well. The bathroom had a line of dead (thankfully) bugs inside the door. The window in the room came equipped with a piece of wooden dowel to hold the window closed (made me nervous as the window seemed to lock). That evening I informed the desk agent the shower curtain rod was falling down and was not repaired during our stay. The next day we learned that the “breakfast” was a collection of pre packaged snacks from Walmart, room temp coffee and a waffle maker. No protein at all, much less anything appetizing. That evening when we returned to our room we learned that maid service consisted of picking up (some of) the used towels and leaving clean, but dust covered, towels. The next morning we had a family emergency so we informed the front desk that we needed to leave a day short of our reservation. As it was not prepaid we were told that we would be refunded. Needless to say our experience with Super 8 will not be repeated as we will not darken the door of that brand by Wyndham.

The worst Super 8 I ever stayed at. Moldy shower curtain. Hairs in the shower. Dirty sink. Haul floors stained. No decent food available. Waffle batter was watery. Likely been sitting out for days or weeks. OJ came out as water. Then OJ. Then water. Staff will wait until you are asleep to call and notify you of any issues "they" may have. Dogs barking on other rooms. Totally disgusting, overall.

We have stayed 6 times in the past couple of years.Motel is exceptionally clean, comfortable bed, all the amenities you need. Above all they have a warm accommodating front desk staff and manger that go above and beyond to accommodate. They even remember us on a first name basis which was impressive. We drive out of our way to stay here. They get a 5 Star + from us and we are choosy about where we stay.

The facilities were clean and comfortable. The staff worked well with my needs. I have stayed there annually for the past 10 years and already reserved my room for next year. There are many good restaurants in the community from fast food to fine dining at Gallager's on Mill St. downtown (my personal favorite).

No problems while we were there. Staff was friendly and helpful. Nice accommodations and close location for our family members wedding and reception. Easy to find and lots of close places to go to eat the next morning with our family
