I booked the Ibis Budget Köln Messe for a concert at the Palladium. I had already stayed there once before 5 years ago. The room was booked at very short notice and cost just under 58 euros for one person on a Thursday in April 2024, without breakfast. The breakfast buffet costs 13 euros per person, I looked at the selection and found it inappropriate. Parking costs 14 euros. There are parking spaces on the street in front of the hotel for 5 euros per day, but if you check in late and the hotels are fully booked, there may be no free spaces left. The check-in was professional, not overly friendly but OK. I had already checked in online via the homepage, so there wasn't much left to clarify. The room was very clean, I personally found the mattress very comfortable, I slept well. I didn't hear anything from the hallway at night, but the hotel seemed to have only been visited by a few guests that day. It wasn't very busy. There are only 6 coat hooks for hanging clothes, and there is no closet. The Lanxess Arena is only 10 minutes away on foot, the cathedral is around 20 minutes away, the Palladium/E-Werk is around 40 minutes away, or you can just take the tram which leaves 5 minutes away. Overall, the impression is positive. I would book this hotel again for 1-2 nights, it's absolutely fine.
