There is air conditioning in Germany, which is a lifesaver in the hot summer... The front desk is very friendly and the facilities are not dragging down the four-star rating. The location is very good, the city center is convenient for transportation, and there are all kinds of supermarkets around. Five-star recommendation, I don't know why Google's rating is so low... Very good location. Two stops from the main station. The hotel is in a side street that is quiet despite the bars and cafes.
The facilities are very old-fashioned, but perfectly adequate for a 2-3 day trip if you don't need luxury.
The bed was OK. It could have been a bit bigger. However, the pillows were not very comfortable despite the extra pillows.
The air conditioning worked perfectly.

A good hotel near Cologne Cathedral.
It is behind the main road and not easy to find.
The room is a little old.
Pros: Most of the breakfast items are BIO, which is probably their specialty. Close to the inner city shopping center, eating and shopping are all within walking distance.
