Embassy Suites College Station

Love coming to the Embassy Suites when I need to to spend the night in BCS for medical appointments. The Hilton Conference Center is also a great place, I’d prefer Embassy due to the comfortable down to earth atmosphere. Their gym and other amenities are some of my favorite. Happy Hour til 730pm!!! Can’t go wrong and their restaurant/bar has the best staff!
The George

We had the best time for our 7v7 tournament weekend in College Station. The George was perfect, the rooms were great, beds were comfortable and all amenities were awesome. This was a cool swanky little hotel with a great swim area and a great bar. Even being as busy as they were, they were very kind and on top of it! On top of it being so great was the location, it had every style of food. So much so that you never really had to leave the area. They had Tex-Mex, burgers and a pizza place and even a Candy shop with all types of shopping around. It was great and we'll definitely be back again!

Aggieland Boutique Hotel

Surprisingly the bed sheets had some stains and pillows were smelling and there was an unusual odor in the room. We booked this hotel thinking it is very near to Texas A&M university campus but for similar or even better price you will find much cleaner hotel. Also, I'm still disputing my double charge for the stay as I pre-paid through Trip.com and after checkout the Hotel also charged me again for the same. If I haven't looked at my credit card statement this would have passed. Hotel staff are very laid back, not willing to resolve the issue and have offered no apologies for the mistake, as if they don't care. Sorry, will never step into this hotel again as I don't trust them !
Home2 Suites by Hilton College Station

Usually I stay at the La Quinta Inn and Suites on Earl Rudder when I’m in town, but I had recently stayed with a friend at a Home2 Suites in the Houston Area and found it pleasant, so when I saw there was one in College Station, I thought I would give it a try. It’s located close to campus — pretty much walking distance — which is a plus for family who might be visiting their kids at College. It also backs onto a mixed-use development with a lot of restaurant options, another strong positive. While Texas no longer has a mask ordinance for COVID-19, the CDC and state govt strongly encourage people to use them. This hotel has signs on the windows stating that masks are required, but the majority of guests seem to ignore it and I did not witness any staff requesting customers wear them (even when waiting in line to check in). One of the elevators was broken which meant 6-7 unmasked people crowding into an elevator despite the sign on the elevator door saying “2 people max”. I have a medical condition which places me at high risk, so I always wear a mask. I also take a daily injection which is required to be kept refrigerated, so I choose my travel accommodations partially on the availability of an in-room fridge. The Home2 Suites offer a partial kitchen — full sized fridge, dishwasher, plates and cups, sink and an available burner/pan. I stayed in room 509, but unfortunately the fridge and freezer in that room was not cooling. I tried turning the settings down lower but it still was not cooling. I called the front desk and advised them that it didn’t work, and made do with the small ice chest I carry with me when I travel. The rest of the room was OK. The king bed was comfortable, albeit they only give you two pillows and a decorative throw pillow. The walk-in shower was nice and hot water was ample. Water pressure was strong. Four sets of towels were provided, more than enough for a solo traveler. The plugs built into the nightstand didn’t work, which was annoying, but not a big deal. Overall the Home2 Suites isn’t a bad option when visiting town. Being close to campus and in walking distance to a number of restaurants is a big plus. Plus the couch makes into a sleeper sofa, perfect for larger families. For the price point I would have hoped that things were in better repair — especially when you market yourself as a facility for extended stays. I probably would not stay here again, but that’s based on my special needs. For a family visiting their college kids, it’s a good option and close to everything.
