Hotel Risi

We originally planned to visit in October 2020 at another Hotel travelling by air. We know why that went wrong. Rebooked at the Risi Hotel and drove to Lake Como by Car. Excellent trip both ways with only a little confusion over the Pass to drive through Switzerland. We had pre booked and requested a Lake view room which we had. From When we arrived at the Risi to leaving 8 days later we had an excellent time. All the staff were very kind and friendly and most helpful when we needed to find something out. Meals were first class, we had 3 evening meals in the hotel and of course 8 Breakfasts. We had a room on the second floor and just outside our room was a small Terrace which we sat on with our drinks and supermarket bought evening meal. Plenty to see and do in the area. There is good quality entertainment in the square almost every night. We saw Black Queen a very good tribute band of Queen. Great Holiday Many thanks Hotel Risi

Location, service and food, all five stars. Second visit in four months and both times the same experience. Location by the lake totally perfect and views from the rooms couldn’t be better. The hotel owned and taken care of with the pride that you never experience in chain hotels. Both times also the dinner absolutely excellent again both for the food itself but also for the service and for the value.

Family run hotel right by the lake and ferry terminal. All the staff were very friendly. There was a lift to get to the rooms. Our room was very clean with a king size bed, with extra pillows & blankets in a cabinet. We had paid extra for a lake view, but to be honest, I wouldn't bother again as there is no balcony, plus there were trees obscuring the view as we were on the first floor. You will have a lake side view at breakfast time anyway from the restaurant. There was plenty of storage for our clothes in the room, but only a few coat hangers in the wardrobe, and the wooden bedroom furniture I would describe as shoddy (drawers don't go in & out smoothly). Decent size bathroom (with a bidet), storage for toiletries on a rack, shower cubicle a bit small our only gripe was the hot water, which was very hit and miss. Hot water took ages to come through, (sometimes there was none) when it did it was too hot & adjusting the settings didn't seem to make any difference, and frequently it would suddenly go cold. The room also has a mini bar and a safe. Breakfast was particularly good, cold meat, boiled eggs & cheese, good choice of fruit, delicious yoghurt, bread, croissants, pastries. Choice of different coffees from a machine. You could also pay extra for an omelette. The restaurant is currently closed until further notice and we ate at local restaurants. As regards location, it is right opposite the ferry terminal, there is a train station 10 minutes walk away with fast trains to Milan plus buses going to the West and East sides of lake, so very easy to get out and about to different places. We were on an organised trip when we stayed her, so I can't comment on the price, but I would happily stay here again if we ever visit lake Como again, but I wouldn't bother with a lake view room.

Good value for money. Stunning location right by the lake (though we didn't pay extra for a lake view from bedroom as we were only staying for 1 night). Hotel is a short walk from railway station and right opposite ferry terminal, so very well situated. Friendly and helpful staff. Room was very good size, clean and comfortable. Good breakfast. Would stay again. No dinner option at the hotel while we were there, but we were happy with the local restaurant they recommended. Colico is very small, though, so there were only two restaurants open at the time of our visit (a week before Easter).
