Stayed at this homestay for three nights, the homestay is right next to the Republic Square, walk 100 meters through the Republic Square to the famous University of Coimbra, and the Coimbra Migration Board is also 250 meters away. The biggest highlight of the homestay is the public kitchen and living room on the first floor. It is fully equipped and it is very convenient to make something to eat. The kitchen leads to the small courtyard of the hotel. There are two platforms up and down. Oranges are planted. The fruit is full and you can pick it at will. The hotel's cleaning aunt is very warm and friendly. If you have the opportunity to come to Coimbra again, you will definitely stay at this homestay.
Hotel Astoria

Hotel Astoria embodies 1920 chic French decor. Much of that fashion remains in tact, but in fairness, also reflects its age. The hotel's location right on the river provides easy access to most of Coimbra. However, the city is essentialy a giant hill, so a 10 mins walk along a steep slope may be a significant inconvenience to many. The staff is extremly friendly and works hard to provide a comfortable stay. There is no swimming pool and guests may want to bring some additional amendities (body lotion). Those may have been available, I never bother asking. Wifi is only available in public areas. Easy to check emails but not great for working in the room. Will definitely consider another stay if the price is competitive to other hotels.
Hotel D. Luis

A weak and little variety of breakfast. In the rooms, there was a lot of cotton, waste and powder under the beds. There were many Christmas dinners that eventually made the parking chaotic, there should be more care for the host to take place. My son lost his gown at the reception and no one saw or found him.

Zero Box Lodge Coimbra

I have mixed feelings about my experience in this hotel, the reason is that it has an unusual concept with a design-oriented approach, which attracted a designer like me. As I checked in late and tired, the friendly staff offering me an ice cold beer was a nice start. The fact that the room was a windowless box made me a little uneasy at first, although I am not claustrophobic, but I was relieved by the good lighting and the rain shower. The hotel is really a must-experience and appeals more to young guests with its more affordable price compared to others. The only negative point was that it wasn't clean enough, the sheet metal on the bed and dust on the floor prevented the perfect experience.
