Ibis Cognac is a great example of a typical Ibis hotel. No frills , reasonably priced with everything we needed for an overnight stay on our road trip to Spain. The bed was comfortable, the facilities clean and the wifi was good. Breakfast offered a great selection and they even provided paper bags for people to take stuff away with them . It was well placed to explore Cognac. We didn’t visit any of the brandy producers but there several within a few minutes of the hotel. There is free parking in the public car park opposite the hotel. Special mention should be given to Lucy on reception who went out of her way to be helpful. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

Absolutely loved our stay here. All staff were happy and friendly and it feels as though everything is cared about from the cleaning, general look of the place and furnishings to the breakfast. The location is excellent, we parked the car opposite the hotel on the Friday evening when we arrived and didn’t use it again until we left on the Sunday morning. Perfect in every way.

Our daughter was holding her wedding at a nearby chateau. We book 15 rooms at this beautiful resort after a reconnaissance visit a few months earlier. Unfortunately the staff were unfriendly and churlish from the moment we arrived. At 10pm reception advised the bar was closed and there was no 24 hour service. Staff shortages so the manager advised; he no doubt let at 5pm prompt! We were stuck for an hour in the glass lift and saw it broken with guests locked 3 times over the next couple of days. Definitely not a place for a celebration or a return visit. Restaurant top dollar and steaks were tough. They would not refund without an argument. They took out another €600 euros off my card 4 weeks after our party checked out and still not provided an explanation. In Summary, an amazing facility destroyed by the arrogant management and their underlings mostly tarnished by their leaders. The fish rots from the head-so true having complained about our treatment to no avail.

We asked staff where we could park our motorbike and they told us to leave it up the road in the village square. They did not tell us that there was a market the next day and we should move it by 7am. The receptionist subsequently told us that they were phoned by the stall holder at 7am. But did not want to wake us up!!! This resulted in our bike being forcibly moved and the wheel was damaged. We had to get the bike repaired.at our expense Luckily the local bike shop Were very helpful and we were able to go on our way. The hotel staff were apologetic, but then told us we could have parked in the hotel garage !!! So overall a nice place to stay. But communication could have been better and we ended up out of pocket. So If you go watch out for the parking !

I stayed at Hotel Francois Premier recently for over a week while on business with several colleagues. The hotel is in an excellent location on the main square of Cognac city center. The hotel is beautiful and very well maintained. Front staff were very friendly and attentive. My room was a nice size, fully equipped and had 2 nice windows. What I liked - Very comfortable bed - Super efficient AirCon - Very quiet - Kettle - Great bathroom with rain shower - Breakfast was high quality with many choices and excellent scrambled eggs - Umbrellas to borrow To Improve - The hotel WiFi for the rooms was broken for the entire time of my stay. My colleagues informed me it was broken for a few weeks - Our entire team ending up purchasing SIM cards with large data included to be able to work from our rooms - No one at the hotel ever reached out to me to offer any kind of compensation for the WiFi situation NOTE: There is limited hotel indoor parking for a fee, but free outdoor parking is very close by
