Noisy but fun backpacker hotel
I returned to the Moey Hoey hotel from having such a beautiful experience earlier that week on a Monday. Again the hoey moey is a lively stop surrounded by amazing natural beauty of the Australia coast

We stayed for a week as our van had broken down. Frank and all of his staff were amazing - so helpful and accommodating even when we weren’t sure how long we were going to be staying. Clean, friendly & great amenities. The menu in the restaurant is huge, varied and great value. The bar is lots of fun and always has some live music or other event on. Always busy with atmosphere. Our room was quiet and private and clean. Great shower and small kitchenette. Right on the beach and only a 30 minute walk to the jetty area of Coffs Harbour with cafes bars and restaurants. We are so grateful and would definitely recommend a stay here!

Good cheap place to stay if you don't have any expectations. Good location since it's a minute walk to the beach, and they serve good food but a bit pricey.

The location of Hoey Moey could not be better. Right on the beach front. Loved walking the small track over the dunes onto a beautiful beach. No roads to cross.
Entertainment provided, great food at the restaurant, pokie room available plus a commercial size kitchen if we wanted to use it.
Definitely will be returning to this idyllic spot in Coffs Harbour at an affordable price. Available to all ages.

Best hostel in Auz in a perfect location! 10 second walk to the beach and lots of shops/cafes/restaurants a short 15 min walk away. If you are looking for retail or hospitality jobs there are plenty in the area. The cleaners do an amazing job and are friendly. Frank who runs the place is the most helpful hostel owner you will ever meet! From before we arrived he was so helpful over email and made our whole stay relaxing and enjoyable. He also gave us some advice for finding regional work before/during our stay. You also get a discount for weekly bookings and some vouchers for discounted pizza/free beer & pool games over in the pub. We loved the hostel & Coffs so much that we ended up staying a total of almost 6 months! The guests are generally really friendly and we made some lifelong friends. Thanks for everything Hoey Moey!

Don’t stay here, it cost me $270 for one night in what I call a concrete box with no air conditioning, no bathroom sink no bedside table. I’ve stayed in a few budget accommodation but nothing compares to this, yes it was clean but it was old, you can hear everything from the rooms next door. Mattress was thin and only one pillow. There is a fan but it’s that old it looked like it was going to fall off. Everything was old and worn. They at least need more block out curtains to stop the light coming in to the room. Front desk gentleman was abrupt and seemed like he didn’t care. The pub however probably saves this place. Do yourself a favour grab a swag and sleep on the beach!

Although I never actually got to stay at Hoey Moey due to complications . The staff especially Lexi that helped me deal with the situation were nice, friendly and very understanding , she is a credit to the company! If nothing else stay for the warm welcome I’m sure you’ll receives
