Our first time here, not too far from home. The outdoor pool was the reason we picked this site. It’s a fab pool, could do with being a touch warmer but overall great for a swim and for kids to play. We booked a time slot that morning. The shop is fab, we bought some lovely gifts as well as supplies. We had a lovely breakfast in the cafe. All staff were friendly and helpful. We walked down to the cock’ O Barton for a lovely evening meal. Overall a great stay. The games room was good fun too. Toilets and showers very clean and modern. The only negative - some of the other clientele. No respect for other pitches space and walking right next to our campervan when cutting through pitches. And being quite noisy & boisterous in the pool area. The owners of the campsite can’t help if kids are feral but it puts us off. So glad we weren’t pitched near the playground or pool. We’d come again probably mid week in term time to get a quieter stay. (We had a child with us so we know kids are kids but respect for others goes a long way).

Pitch was lovely quiet peaceful area, right by the fishing lake. Glad we were here as other pitches looked busier. Fishing lake was beautiful, complete with lily pads and little ducklings! Great park area, with new one nearly completed. Swimming pool was a great bonus. Clean and tidy facilities, although could do with extra shower area perhaps. Cafe was delicious and great service. All staff we spoke to were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Shop was great too, all the essentials. We would definitely stay again, but for longer! Thank you all

Lovely campsite, can't fault it really. Really nice outdoor pool with sun loungers on a nice day. The kids would even get in when it was raining because they said the pool wasn't too cold. The little shop is very basic but it's helpful if you have forgotten something. The cafe is beautiful and serves food till around 12, nice place to warm up if it's a chilly day and it has a lovely view of the pond. The cafe also has an indoor little play area and an outside play area. It was plenty of parks for the kids and they are also sand pits so bring the bucket and spade! Some of the toilets aren't the cleanest but all in all very happy with the picturesque peaceful campsite, will definitely be back.

Just returned from Manor Wood in Chester Aug 2024. Family of 6. I agree with the previous reviews about the site. It's is a nice, tidy site apart from the cleanliness of the toilet & bathrooms. Not once while we were there, did we see anyone cleaning them or did they appear to have just been cleaned. It's a real let down to the site. Pool, tennis courts & games room are all great. The cafe is nice & average prices. Reception staff were very friendly & polite. There was a large party there even tho it says they are not allowed. They could be noisy but that's not a reflection of the site.

Just got back from manor wood and we loved every minute of it. Great well maintained tent hook up pitch next to the heated pool and toilets. Was mid week so was peaceful with just minimal well behaved small children. Dogs allowed in the lovely cafe where you can also eat outside looking directly over a fishing lake. Food was lovely and the omelette Devine. Everyone enjoyed their breakfast that we ordered. Very friendly staff and reception with non of that childish rolley eyes when you ask a simple question. Doesn’t that just irritate!! I booked over the phone and staff were super helpful advising which pitch would be good for us. They were accommodating and moved us close to our friends in the camper. We all agreed we had a fabulous time and would definitely go back there again mid week. Ps not sure why people are complaining about games room it looked fab. 2 x children play area, fishing lakes, heated pool and tennis court. I have been to campsites that are more expensive and no where near these facilities. Plus news for some ground gets wet while camping in pouring rain. Don’t camp if you can’t accept that sometimes happens. Sorry can’t stand people complaining for silly reasons especially when it is such a well run site.

Honest review hoping to give you an idea before visiting. Firstly have to say we would be returning From the start then. We booked and was advised it would be £55 a night but online says £45. we wanted to stay for 2 £90When we checked it we was charged for a few additional extras which was £7.50 per child per night no children are included. Dogs was charged £5 each per night. So before we knew it we was charged £145 not sure how they worked it out. Didn’t want to question the last as it felt as if we was already an inconvenience. Pitch was lovely very well maintains the grounds are perfect. Bins well maintains and disposable very clean. Our pitch had direct water and electric supplied. Pot wash am surprised was so small had to wait a while and that’s in May not peak season. Facilities are super clean and very modern really nice to use. Pool was great I would say it’s heated as we was in it and it was lovely in May. Very clean but no changing facility’s just a handful of beds to sit on. Am sure more come out in the summer months. Nice 2 parks for the kids. And a nice cafe / restaurant on site we didn’t eat there however definitely would try next time. Nice and quiet as of 10pm. Nice pub about 10-12 min walk away. Food was high quality.

Not for families with small children. Was a very loud site with people up blasting music past midnight waking my children up throughout the night. I spoke with reception and they did take it serious but they can only do things from after 10pm so we had lots of shouting, screaming even swearing children running round our tent whilst our children were trying to get to sleep. The children that were running around the site swearing and being nasty to other children were residents with caravans on the site. They had no respect for others on the site and were running around the tent and car even when asked to stop. A child nearly ran into our firepit when we were roasting marshmallows as they just didnt have any respect for others areas. Luckily i screamed to stop before they got hurt! One of the children punched my son in the eye when they were playing football right infront of our tent. The shower facilities were a short walk and were clean which was the only good thing i can think of! And only one block for all guests as well as those who use the pool. As for the pool when we booked on pitch up it said the pool wasn't open. When we arrived I heard a member of staff say to a resident that the pool was open early. When I asked at reception she just pulled a funny face and said sorry! Would of been nice to of known they were opening the pool earlier as the children would of enjoyed that. For £180 for an electric tent pitch was very overpriced as no special facilities were used such as the pool as we weren't aware that it was open.

Very overpriced for what’s really a very boggy field, even the hard standing was saturated, if you go there take your wellies you will definitely need them, games room is freezing with a 40 yr old pool table 50pence a go, table football £1, but can’t stay in there long as it’s freezing

Very dirty, the toilets never get cleaned just new toilet roll, zip ties around the taps. The pool was a milky colour with green around the sides. I had some test strips in my car the chlorine was low and the ph level high so probably full of pee, my children wasn't allowed back in after testing it. It needs a chlorine shock get it clean. 2 labradors barking constantly. Teenagers hanging around in the toilets. Very disappointing for the price will stick to ty Mawr or presthaven sands
