I only went yo the restaurant. I loved the seafood chowder! And the hunk of brown bread.. yum ! Lovely waterfront restaurant. Great service too. Had a glass of wine and watched the sun on the water… had to wear sunglasses… loved it! So enjoyed the town of Cobh too.

Was hoping for a sea view as it was quiet but no looking onto a wall wasn’t happy at all, breakfast was good lots to choose from and staff friendly , just disappointed about no sea view especially being right on the waters edge, twice stayed in Cobh and the previous hotel no sea view aswell very disappointed

Our 2nd stay in the Waters edge hotel ,A great hotel ,lovely rooms ,great food and the most plesent Staff to greet and to serve you ,service was top class in restaraunt ,food was top class from breakfast to Dinner,Our party of six will be back here very soon Thank You for a great stay on the 2nd and 3rd Feb .

Had lunch here today ( 1st February) €20 for fish and chips Well I am still alive but that’s about it Would have been better off in the local chipper Coldish mushy peas from a tin Reused chips Cold service Wish I would have gone to the titanic instead

Cobh's best kept secret about to be unleashed. This Excellent Hotel is the best in Cobh by a mile. One of the best in Ireland. Jacobs Ladder restaurant offers a great full Irish breakfast to start your day with an Excellent evening meal menu with a hugh variety of quality dishes. We could not find fault anywhere throughout our stay. Room 5 is simply stunning with 180-degree views across the port with views of Haulbowline navy yard,Spike Island,Whitegate,Crosshaven, and back to port of Cork. Our only mistake was not to book for longer. Finally a hugh thanks to all the polite, friendly and professional staff who made our stay so comfortable.

Lunch meal was expensive enough per person. Chicken seared on pan, well there definitely wasn't any sign of searing, was more like boiled chicken! Mash potato underneath the chicken. We asked if we could have more mash, weren't told that that would be extra money! Upon paying I mentioned this to the girl, a very nice staff member she was, as she's not to blame. I said that it was on behalf of the hotel / restaurant a very bad policy to charge extra and without mentioning this to the client beforehand!

Great location, excellent service. Especially appreciated the help provided by the receptionist Aga on our arrival to meet friends arriving on a cruise ship. Breakfast (included in our booking) was far above the usual standard and we had dinner in the restaurant both nights - also very good.

The positives: Firstly the views from the hotel are just stunning. You are literally over the water edge. It was not something I had expected when I booked and its a great selling point. Good or bad weather you can appreciate the view. The room was very big and had a lot of space. The staff were very friendly and the food was pretty good. The not so positives: As others have said, the hotel needs a good deep clean and the rooms needs a refresh. Avoid staying in the rooms downstairs if you can, all you hear is noise from the bar and chairs and tables moving until the late hours. I booked this very last minute and was trying desperately to find a wheelchair accessible room in the region which was not easy. When I rang through to book , they did say that the room was wheelchair accessible in that there were no steps and the bathroom was easy to access for a wheelchair user. I should have questioned this more as I normally do but time being tight I took a gamble. It was a error on my part. The room was indeed large but no part of it was what I would consider wheelchair accessible. The beds were very high and the bathroom was really small and nearly impossible to use. I could not even get into the shower. I would say if you are a full time wheelchair user who cannot walk at all, do not stay here. If you want to see the views book a table at the restaurant if you are in Cobh. Overall, regardless of the access issues, I would not stay here again until the hotel had a bit of a refresh and clean.

I cannot convey my gratitude for the excellent customer service I experienced with Aga at the WatersEdge Hotel. My husband and I were in port last Thursday while on a cruise and my cousin was staying at the hotel. Due to a medical issue, my husband missed our ship's departure. My cousin was immediately assisted by Aga at the front desk who went out of her way to assist in coordinating travel plans for my husband which included lodging for the night and then arranged for a flight and taxi to meet me at our next port of call the following day. She truly went out of her way to assist my family and provided a level of service that truly exceeded my expectations . Aga was extremely professional, friendly and helpful from the moment we spoke with her and I was particularly impressed by the knowledge and expertise. She went above and beyond to assist my husband with his dilemma. Her efforts made a difficult situation much easier and I am truly grateful for her assistance! We appreciate you and your employer is very fortunate to have you as an employee!
