We booked this hotel based on positive reviews, but were underwhelmed to find the hotel did not match these, maybe because it is the end of “The Season”? No coffee or water in the room, pretty standard these days. Had a water view room looking out over the harbour which was fabulous. Breakfast buffet was very basic with lots of empty platters by 9am. Cooked breakfast was good. Overall, great location, onsite, secure parking fantastic given the limited parking options close to the water. Hopefully others considering staying here will receive better service if it’s a busier time of year?

I really wanted to love the WatersEdge, but only liked it. It is old, tired and desperately in need of some TLC. The food is average. What saves it, is the location and the staff. They were warm, friendly and welcoming and we felt like valued guests. Unfortunately I would not return.

Friendly staff but the breakfast was inedible. Could do with a bit of tweaking could hear people in room next to us there conversation. Apart grom that a lovely spot. Would recommend. We were in a room facing the road didnt get the experience of having a room with view of the sea

As a local and a regular to the Watersedge hotel I write this review with disappointment. We had 12 people at our table and we arrived at 2pm our food was served up at us 3.05pm 45 min later in dribs and drabs. The chicken supreme was fried up, cold, no sauce and we had to ask for the vegetables. The fish and chips wasn't very nice as it was greasy. The water ran low on our table and again had to ask for water. The curry was beautiful and the beef was also good. After asking for dessert menus no one came back to take our order. I won't be recommending the Watersedge to anyone. It was one of our favorite places to eat but it's not the same anymore.

Location location location! The only thing this hotel has is the location, which is excellent. Beyond that, the hotel is old, run down, poorly maintained, and dirty. The towels had holes in them and were very thin. Shower was mouldy. The walls everywhere were crying out for fresh paint. The windows just wanted a wash job! The doors were basically impossible to close without slamming so anyone coming or going late at night would wake everyone. The floors and windows in the restaurant were covered with food. No one seemed interested in sweeping or washing windows. But , the location is amazing. If that’s all you care about this hotel is for you. This is the only hotel during a one month stay that didn’t request a review. Makes it very hard to believe they are interested in making things better.

They bashed there fist off the bathroom door when my friend was using the bathroom and told us to f off and get out and never come out and proceed to not let my friend finish using the bathroom and she had to go in her pants, then they told us to off ourselves

We stayed here for one night as we were travelling around Southern Ireland for a few days and chose this hotel because of the prime location and the free parking was a bonus. The reception staff was very friendly and we were given a water front room as we requested. The stairways and hallway smelt a bit musty and our room could have done with a deep clean especially in the bathroom. We noticed pink limescale on the shower tiles and dust around the shower door and radiator. We found the kettle and cups on a tray in the wardrobe which is an odd place to put them. There were no complimentary bottles of water available which would have been greatly welcome but instead, we had to fill water the kettle in the bathroom sink. The breakfast was mediocre and me and my husband agreed the ingredients was very poor, I chose to leave most of my cooked breakfast. The service staff seemed disinterested in their work and were more interested in talking amongst themselves. We wouldn’t stay here again due to these reasons which is a shame because it could be a lovely hotel given the location.

I stayed here with my sisters last weekend (9th to the 11th August) and it was fantastic. The staff are very helpful and very friendly! They make you feel so welcome. Our room was amazing! Had our own little balcony where we could sit out with a drink and enjoy the view and the weather. It was very clean and very comfortable. I'd recommend this hotel to everyone.
