Late night desk clerk was on the phone when we got there around 10-11:00 pm. I had to wait a looonng time for her to be done with her call, which did not seem like an emergency, or that she was in any hurry to complete. There was no one else in the lobby. She didn’t even look at me or say, I’ll be with you in a moment. Then she also took a very long time checking me in. It seemed deliberate, or maybe she was just distracted. I asked her to give us credit for the stay with our rewards membership, but she could not find anything on the computer and said I would have to go to the website. I have asked at other BW motels for this and it has not been a problem. Overall, I felt unwelcome as a guest, and did not get the usual warm or even cordial professional greeting I usually get at other motels where I stay. Otherwise, everything was great, but this little incident makes me want to not stay there again, even though I think you have the best motel available on this long stretch of highway, and we have stayed here numerous times in the recent past.
Motel 6 Coalinga, CA - East

Stayed two nights at the motel. One night going south, the other night a couple of days later heading back north. The first night we were given a disability access room even though we didn't really need such a room. Fine, except that the heat didn't work and it was a cold night. The heating fan made an awful noise when on. It was late and we were just too tired to call the desk about it so bundled up. The second night, on the way back, got another room, not disabled access. Room was very nice and clean. Heating in that room worked perfect. Beds were very comfortable in both rooms. Rooms were clean. The disabled access bathroom sink could use a tap whose handle doesn't hit the shelf above it when lifting it to turn the water on. As seems to be the trend in lodging nowadays, room does not come with microwave, refrigerator or coffee maker. The area stinks of potential steak and hamburger material. It is after all next door to the biggest cattle ranch in the state. Fortunately the rooms were pretty well insulated from the smell outside. The people at the desk and other motel workers were very nice and friendly. There's a really good taqueria nearby. Cholio's. Highly recommend it. For coffee there's a Starbucks. A bit watered down for my taste. In terms of highway noise, best to ask for room facing the pool.

Wonderful greeting at reception and checking in was easy. I didn't have my rewards card with me, but the receptionist looked it up and even printed it out for me. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was great. Nice also having a restaurant next door so no need to get back into the car for dinner. Perfect!
