Had the 2 course meal, starter and main. Beautiful food with a nice view, plenty of food to choose from, variety of drinks. Staff are happy and helpful. Lovely pub. Can sit in side or in the garden. It's beautiful outside with the river just a few feet away.

NOT wheelchair accessible. The room we were given had a step up that is 4 inches high. The UPVC door frame has a lip out, a ridge up and a lip in so not possible for any sort of manual or electric wheelchair user to manage independently. Any AB assistants should wear a hernia belt! It was very difficult. The room was at the bottom of a sloped car park. The parking spot allocated for WC users was at the top of the slope, and the parking space itself was sloped. Because the slope between our room and the pub itself was so steep, the WC user didn't go in. I did. If we had wanted to eat a meal there we would have had to sit just outside the main restaurant. Very isolating. Such a shame. The Pub seemed to be nicely decorated. The beer garden looked nice (another place we couldn't get to) The staff seemed very pleasant (but they didn't have a clue what to do when I told them their "wheelchair room" wasn't accessible) And the final indignation. . . The bar shut just as we arrived at 6pm on Sunday.

Amazing Sunday lunch yesterday. Cooked to perfection and excellent portions!!! The whole team is fantastic. Stayed in our motor home. Also had a full English breakfast on the Saturday. Cereals , orange juice, tea, yogurt and toast, all for £15 a head. Will definitely return!!!!!

Stayed for one night. Ground floor room on back was spacious with view of gardens and seating area. Good parking. Room was very clean. Bathroom big but bit unkempt in places, bad tiling and grout but clean. Shame they stopped serving food at 4pm, weren't told this on booking so forced to go elsewhere. Stayed here as thought would be quiet. Sadly not due to other inconsiderate guests who cane back after midnight with no thought for downstairs guests. Believe the male was Matt as his partner repeatedly shouted his name in the corridor. They were noisey in room above till gone 0100. No surprise they were last down for bfast. The best part was the bfast. The website had said continental so we loved finding out it was full English which was lovely. Good quality produce and lovely lady serving. Good end to the stay.

Very disappointed with their sunday lunch to much to put on here. We should have complained while there we certainly won't be visiting again in a hurry. Poor starters and main meal veg dried through being under heat to long sweets was no better

We were guided to the Water Rat by a friend who said the location, food and staff were spot on and to top it off you can overnight in your camper van. So we thought we would give it a go. So our opinion, well location is fantastic directly on the banks of the Severn and a river path straight into Ironbridge, perfect. Food cannot complain about the food it was home made and delicious. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and even though we were last ones to leave they did not rush us which was so kind of them. Peaceful nights sleep in the camper and great to hear the owls. We were offered breakfast for £15 a head which sounded good value for what was being offered though we were still full from the evening meal so did not take up the offer. All in all brilliant and we will be back.

Visited on 5th March having seen an advert in the local freebie magazine (WhatsOn). We are regular visitors to Ironbridge but this is the first time we've tried The Water Rat, probably on account of it being a short walk from the town centre (about 10 minutes) so not obvious to the casual visitor. Well worth the walk! Lovely staff who will engage in conversation whilst taking your order etc. Great value, good quality food and plenty of it. Will definately return.

Brilliant place. Delicious food too Stayed two nights in our camper an. Far end of car park is flatter. Walk from car park along river to town. Do breakfast too - dogs ok inside. They have a few rooms so open for toilets early and late. Very friendly staff too. Had issue with our water and they kindly let us fill up from their hose. Thank you Water Rat. 10/10
