Hôtel du Commerce

This hotel is very basic, only slightly better than a youth hostel. I traveled with my family and my daughters (12 and 14 years old) got a room overlooking the street and my husband and I got a room at the back of the hotel. Both rooms where clean and bright with bathrooms. I‘m a bit claustrophobic so the narrow staircases up to the third floor (no emergency exit in sight!) annoyed me a little but I managed to overcome that feeling. We choose this hotel because it was the only one with two double rooms available at that time and because we knew that the location is perfect. If you are a light sleeper this hotel isn’t for you. My daughters were disturbed by the garbage collector and I by the clattering of doors at night. Many of the rooms (almost all I think) have shared bathroom so sometimes there’s a lot of walking around at nights. The rooms are also very sound sensitive with doors slamming easily. My youngest daughter complained about her towel, she didn’t think it was clean. It was clean by me but totally worn out and that goes for the rest of the towels we got as well. Small things, but very important for the overall impression! The internet connection was free and worked ok!
