Fernhill House Hotel & Gardens

The last time I was at this hotel was after lock down and a wedding. It appears this hotel has up it's standards since then . The location is stunning. The hotel is beautiful, the staff are 10/10. The rooms are spacious, very comfortable and relaxing . The breakfast in the morning was probably the best I have seen in any hotel . Oceans of food , great quality , homemade produce , staff exemplary and on the ball . For the price of the one night b&b absolutely worth every penny . Well worth the stay and more . This gem of a hotel is a stones throw away from clonakilty and right at the heart of beautiful west cork . Lots to do in the surrounding area as well . One down side if I'm been honest is the work being done a little early in the morning by the back car park it appears they are extending but this has to be done .

Darren and I had the privilege of getting married in Fernhill House on Friday, the 1st of November 2024. From start to finish their staff were exceptional on the day. But from the minute I spoke with Laura and Ann I knew that Fernhill house was the place for me and my family to celebrate one of the most important days of our lives. Ann was absolutely incredible to work with she is an exceptional worker. Her attention to detail is phenomenal. The whole O Neill family are incredible to be honest. From Michael carting us up and down, Neil directing the wedding ceremony and dinner reception. Teresa mending my wedding dress with her amazing seamstress skills. I cannot recommend Fernhill house hotel enough. To anyone reading this and wondering about where they should choose a venue heath my advice and go take a visit down to Fernhill. You will not be disappointed. The breathtaking gardens to the exceptional country house the whole place will blow you away. They have such amazing employees, I was amazed of how wonderful and helpful each and every staff member was for me and my family for our occasion. So I would like to begin to thank the chefs as the food was 5* our meal was incredible. Thank you to all the waitresses on our day that worked tirelessly. Our food was served by staff that were very friendly and timely, bar staff were amazing so polite and helpful. The lady’s at front desk were so attentive. The reservation manager Valda also made sure everyone was happy and that everything was correct with guest bookings. The House keeping team are impeccable they keep the hotel beautifully clean and well stocked. They provided for any need a guest would have. To the O’Neill family, our wedding coordinator Ann and all your staff we just want to thank you for providing us with our dream wedding. Love Ciara, Darren & Robert x

Stayed here while on business recently and what a great hotel. Hadn’t known it was even there as used to stay in Dunmore House. Walked into town from hotel which was really handy. Breakfast was superb as was dinner and staff were top class, Laura and Valder especially helpful. Will definitely be staying here again when in west cork for business or pleasure.

My wife and myself spent 3 nights in this fabulous hotel in February’25, what a beautiful hotel, room was very spacious, good quality bed, and all spotlessly clean including the bathroom. Great breakfast each morning all freshly cooked. We dined there on the 3 evenings the food was top class and reasonably priced. Staff extremely friendly and courteous, would highly recommend.

Lovely hotel, lovely food, and even nicer staff, especially Laura, would highly recommend for a break. Very relaxing and beautiful place to visit, Breakfast was excellent with a great selection, and evening meal was also excellent, would definitely go back.

Choosing Fernhill House Hotel as our wedding venue was the best decision we made! From the moment we met the wedding coordinator Ann Cullinane, we were filled we peace and reassurance that she would do everything in her power to give us the best day of our life…and she absolutely did. Ann’s efficient communication was exceptional and her attention to detail was incredible. Nothing was too much trouble and she made all of our dreams come true. The day ran like clockwork, due to Ann’s meticulous planning and organisational skills. The feed back from the hundreds of guests was overwhelmingly positive. The O’Neill Family welcomed us so warmly for a weekend that we will remember forever. The quality of service and food was exceptional throughout. Every staff member was so helpful from initial bookings, accommodation, waiting staff and reception staff. We couldn’t recommend Fernhill House Hotel highly enough.
