Superb, thoroughly recommended. I've not had the greatest of B&B experiences previously but was looking for somewhere in the countryside, near Denbigh for access to the gliding site. The Old Rectory is in such a peaceful spot. A truly wonderful reconnect and reminder of a slower pace, whilst offering modern conveniences of fast internet and TV, with everything being immaculately presented and very good quality. Catherine is a super host, very accessible and attentive when needed, but otherwise guests simply come and go as they please. The breakfast is sensational, you simply let Catherine know your preferred time between 7-9:30, it thoroughly sets you up for the day! Fabulous fresh fruits, yoghurts, cereals plus a super fried breakfast. Fresh juices, tea and coffee, most items being locally sourced. I've had the good fortune to stay in some pretty high end hotels and the breakfast at The Old Rectory is easily their equal. I stayed in the family suite as everything else was booked, but very reasonable. All the rooms seemed lovely and to the same high standard. Ruthin is just a few minutes drive away and has everything from stone baked pizza takeaways, to trendy bars and restaurants, to a really nice Wetherspoons set in a fab old building. I'd recommend and return to The Old Rectory without hesitation.

I had a wonderful stay beautiful room, amazing hosts and a wonderful breakfast. But what made the stay exceptional was as I was going to leave I managed to lock my car keys in the boot. Catherine went above and beyond to help me letting me use the house phone to call out the AA. Helping me find a taxi company to get me to GYG karting in time to watch my son race. I can't thank Catherine enough.

Had a lovely one night stay here on Saturday evening and enjoyed a very warm welcome from Catherine who owns the b&b. We had a charming room which was cosy and warm with tea and coffee facilities and also some delicious biscuits. We had a very big bathroom which again was lovely and warm. The following morning hubby had a big cooked breakfast which he thoroughly enjoyed whilst I opted for scrambled eggs on lovely nutty bread from the local bakery; delicious as was the fresh fruit starter. We have booked another weekend stay in May and would thoroughly recommend The Old Rectory Bed & Breakfast.

This is an excellent B and B. Clean, quiet, safe, affordable and comfortable. It is a bit remote, in a little village, so do take care when driving to it. Our Driving app directed us through some single lane, gravel roads because that was the shortest way. But you don’t have to do that, as we discovered.
