The Red Pump Inn

We have just returned from a wedding at Bashall Barn near Clitheroe, we booked a 2 night stay at the Red Pump Inn which was very close to the wedding venue, the pub has 8 bedrooms inside and 4 external shepherd's huts, we stayed in a room called De lacy. The bedroom was a good size with a king size bed which was very comfortable, there was a t.v in the room as well as tea and coffee along with biscuits were available and replenished each day, the en-suite bathroom had everything that you would require, hand soap, shower gel and shampoo. The room was kept spotlessly clean at all times. The breakfast in the morning was excellent, everything that you would want, cereal, fruit, juice, toast, and of course bacon, sausage, beans and poached eggs, the perfect start to the day. The pub itself is a traditional country pub serving local beer amongst many other alcoholic drinks, there are several areas to sit as well as another room with a traditional fire. There is ample parking as there is a marquee for functions. Our hosts Jonathan and Fran made us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble, we would certainly recommend the Red Pump and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Didn't spend much time here due to being at a wedding and having to leave early. But, we got to collect keys early, the hosts were lovely, beds huge and very comfortable. The breakfast was very nice and a lot to choose from. Lovely surroundings. If we need to stop in this area again, then this will be our first choice.

We stayed in the shepards hut with the wood fired hot tub . The hut was cosy and comfortable, with all we needed for a nights stay. The owner started the fire for the hot tub and gave us instructions how to get the best from it . Whilst eating a super home cooked meal in the bar i popped back and stoked the fire readying it for use . 1 3/4 hrs later it was ready. A real treat on a cold clear night. We slept amazingly on the comfy bed . A hearty breakfast was provided . The owner were on hand for a friendly chat and directions for walks . Definitely one to return to

A fantastic weekend at the red pump inn, great location and made to feel really welcome. Although the menu was small, the food was very tasty. Nice beers and wines. Bar opened at 5:30, and the food was served till eight. Although we stayed in our campervan, the accommodation looked excellent.

Really lovely 2 night stay. We arrived very late at night having travelled a long way, but we had prewarned the owners and they were there to greet us. The room was very clean, a nice size and equipped with everything we needed. The bathroom was huge, plenty of hot water and nice towels and robes. Beautiful views out of the windows which added to the well presented room. The breakfast was super, plenty of choice from cooked to cereals and the best poached eggs we had ever seen. The staff were chatty, friendly and helpful and we felt very welcome.

Second time we've stayed here . First in a yurt this time in a shepherds hut. It's fab ! Gorgeous setting , gorgeous hut and great owners. When we last came there was a huge steak menu this time more of a supper menu. This did not disappoint ! Food was great v homely ! We had beef Bourguignon and it was lovely . We will be back I'm sure . Thankyou
