My wife and I bought a few boxes of chocolate from a chocolatier in nearby Clayton, Georgia. Placed the boxes on the nightstand next to the bed and went to sleep. In the middle of the night we woke up and the bed and nightstand were covered in ants. I notified the front desk in the morning and was told that "they spray monthly" and "we're in the mountains." I travel a lot and stay in hotels everywhere and have never experienced this. This may have been a "resort" in 1965... Rundown rooms, unfriendly front desk staff, etc. I strongly advise not staying there.

Outdated 90’s hotel room with musty smell. Entire hotel needs renovation. Limited restaurant/bar with nice new managers. No internet nor cell phone. Texting unreliable. Very little to do. It’s quiet with few guests on our summer weekend.

This was our second visit. The resort rooms are dated and the bathrooms in particular need updating. But the staff are friendly and efficient. The golf course is a good deal trickier than its yardage would imply. Well designed though with some really good holes and the rest acceptable. David the golf pro is superb, helpful, efficient and - pardon the pun - professional!

Very nice resort with a friendly atmosphere, beautiful views and very nice golf course in the very charming city of Clayton Georgia. We traveled here from Michigan so glad that we made a great choice to stay here. Thank you for your hospitality.

Excellent place to play golf , immaculate golf course. Nice clean accommodations, beautiful views, quiet surroundings. Close to many fine restaurants and shops in Clayton and Highlands North Carolina. Stop at Osage Farmers Market in Season.

The “resort” has it place but it’s not for me personally. I was at the hotel for business and wifi and phone service are a must for my business travel. The internet was honestly hit or miss with the service going in and out frequently. For phone service, regardless of provider, good luck unless you’re at the ‘resort” main lobby or restaurant, which is only open sparsely. If you want breakfast during a work day prepare to eat somewhere other than the “resort”. The hotel rooms are dated and are in desperate need of updating. There is drywall repair needed, the tubs in need are in need of replacement, and let’s just say mold in the bathroom to say the least. The pocket restroom door that does not actually function is an issue and these examples are just a few key key factors to name a few. Seriously, when I am 5’11 and I can touch the bathroom ceiling without issue the establishment is dated and to top everything off the establishment is dated to the 70s with mild upgrades (the TV) if you are still interested in staying. If you are looking for an independent labeled, no hotel points, and are loot for a resort for golf or the weekend wine tasting it mights be a good place to become a patron; however, staying in the hotel is a serious consideration for any other patrons. If you want to feel mattress springs in your back as you slumber, to have zero phone reception, with spotty internet, and dated accommodations this is your spot. If you just want to unplug and have no contact with the outside world and want to sleep in a tent in the parking lot for a decent bed this is the spot for you!

First impression: entry to “resort” is amazing from the main road. If you are a golfer it is a good place to play. If you are looking for a nice place to getaway and unwind, and you’re use to a true resort, this is not it. Staff was friendly and you could tell they were trying to make the best of what they had to work with. Grounds were tidy, grass green. No pretty flowers around the “hotel” part or visible from guest room balcony. Pool looked nice, tennis courts looked nice. I didn’t visit the spa or indoor pool. It looks as though the owner may live out of state, or another country? Definitely does not feel like they want to put money into accommodations. You check in to the “hotel” part in the golf pro-shop. The pro-shop is under par (sorry) for the reviews the course receives. A coffee machine was available and a gas station hot dog machine was spinning hot dogs on a wheel. The “lobby” was cold and uninviting. The overnight accommodations were apartment looking buildings; dated beige color, with pull up to your door parking. Parking lot was clean. Once inside the room it was spacious with two queen beds, desk and straight back chair (chair was flimsy), dresser with black granite top and big newer tv, club chair and side table (club chair had wear). The view from the spacious balcony was nice, overlooking the pool grounds and woods with a slight view of the mountains. Balcony furniture was functional. Room decor and draperies were badly dated and repairs were needed. No pulley for drapes - had to open/close by hand. Bathroom was not good. Bed pillows were all medium to hard. Recommend adding soft pillows to mix on beds. Linens were fine, clean. It seems they make most of their money from golfing, as there was a steady flow of golf traffic and most of the comments on here are from people who visited to play. From a marketing standpoint, would definitely be better to work with the strengths of the resort and taunt it as a golf getaway in the mountains. A destination wedding facility or couples romantic escape is quite a stretch until the accommodations and amenities are updated and revamped for guests other than golfers. Rate was a bit high to me considering no breakfast option and condition of room. ($125 + taxes, fees + pet fee) I would not stay again nor recommend until a grand reopening is announced after remodel and offerings other than golf are revamped. Owners have a gem waiting to be polished. Rethink, reimagine, revise.

We love this course and the staff who are always so accommodating. Rooms are adequate and we love staying over and playing two days in a row. There are a couple of nice places in town to eat which is less than 10 minutes away.
