Clayton Plaza Hotel & Extended Stay

I came here for a two days business trip. The location is super convenient for me as it was one block away from my office. Since I went there for business, all i cared about is a clean room and a good shower. The water level in the shower was definitely strong. The breakfast buffet was good. They have coffee, oatmeal, corn hash, bacon, bread, fruits etc... The staff are very friendly and my whole experience was great.

Best place to stay in the Clayton/STL area if you are visiting WashU. Staff is A+. I have tried at least five other hotels, and since I stayed in January 2024, I constantly repeat when I visit the town. Breakfast is GREAT! This is not your typical breakfast "INCLUDED!" Extremely clean! They are doing renovations, and you will be greatly surprised at how good it looks every time you go! Plenty of parking and safe! Stay here, you won't regret it!

The hotel is very good. Has a garage, so you can park your car and heading the hotel from the garage. The breakfast is complimentary for all guests. Rooms have a modern shower.

First the positives - the staff was very nice and the breakfast was okay. Now the rest of it. My room was not cleaned the entire time I was there. Apparently, even if you want your bed made, you must request it each day. It was written on one of the many pieces of paper they gave me and I missed it - my bad. Now, let's talk about the rooms. This was one of the worst rooms I've ever been in. I had booked a queen room and when I checked in, I was told I was upgraded to a king suite. They put me in a king handicapped room. It had a bathroom, a bed, 2 nightstands, a dresser and a chair. There was no table and there was no desk. I had to work while I was there and had no place to put my computer. Necessity is the mother of invention so I ended up putting my computer on the ironing board which I set-up next the only chair in the room. Speaking of work, the internet was down all of one of the days I was there. Additionally, at least one of the elevators wasn't working every day. I used the pool and it was very unpleasant. It looked like it hadn't been updated in decades and most of the tile trim was missing. The "beach towels" they provided were more like hand towels. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone - ever again. Stay away - far away.
