The location is beautiful, the food is outstanding, the rooms are comfortable and the spa is pleasant. We had some issues with WiFi in our room which was slightly disappointing as we had to sit in a common area at one point to use it. The room cleanliness was also very slightly not up to my standard but nothing major. And the rooms are not very soundproofed. We were in a room that had an ajoining door (but we didn't know the people in the other room) and we could hear every word they said. Overall I still give 5 stars as we just can't fault the food and the service from the restaurant staff!

Our first visit but definitely not the last. What a beautiful place. Set in lovely grounds with a variety of trees and by a lake with ducks and koi carp. So peaceful and relaxing. The bed was so comfortable, firm but comfortable. The service and staff were excellent, with a special thank you to Jade who was so friendly and helpful. Very good Spa and pools plus golf course. Thoroughly recommend.

My daughters bed was shoved under a half slanted wall where her head was touching the ceiling. Not only that, but it was a crappy metal frame with black fabric to keep th mattress from falling through that looked like something you'd hang a towel on. The room looked nice at first, nothing fancy of course but still functional! Or so we thouught. The room has no air conditioning and got up to 28 degrees last night. The tea kettle socket is too short for any of th plugs and I had to hold the entire tray up anytime I wanted to boil it. There is also no safe for valuables, and there is no mini fridge so if you have young babies that need milk, or milk for drinks then bring your own cooler. Positives: Bathroom is nice though, room is clean and beds are comfy.

We've just returned from our annual spa trip to Ardencote Spa this weekend for the fifth time running and this time sadly we were sorely disappointed Firstly the bar and restaurant staff as ever were great as was the food but there were two key issues which left us extremely disappointed this time: 1. The spa staff. Here we had two complaints: - The young spa attendant at the pool took pleasure in talking to the customers rudely from shouting "time's up ladies, put those sun loungers back" to locking us out of the spa between 1 and 2pm and telling us we couldn't return, even just to get our bags for lunch. He seemed to be allowed by his supervisors to proactively confront guests - The Spa staff generally were rude shouting at several of the customers and telling them off, telling people where they could and couldn't walk for example 2. The pricing - Ardencote need to review their offering: We paid over £200 each for a spa weekend including an overnight stay, meal and breakfast. When we got to the spa we were told (rudely) by the staff that even as hotel guests we could not access the spa or outdoor pool post 1pm and that in order to do so we needed to pay £35 each to use the spa after 1pm. After 3pm they reduced the fee to £15 each but this is a major red flag to any thinking of staying here. We reluctantly paid the fee, stuck between staying in our room or the indoor pool in 30 degree heat. Also they did not have enough loungers and we ended up sitting on a towel for the afternoon!! Overall just really disappointed. Facilities still good but just a really bad experience with the spa staff.

Hotel is in lovely setting and has lots of amenities but wasn’t really for us. Needs some tlc on the finer points and isn’t as luxurious as it seems on website. Has pool indoor snd outdoor and you can use for the duration of your stay which is a plus. Breakfast is included and staff were lovely and helpful but it was not the best food. It disappoints me when it’s basic mass produced products but it is a busy hotel and probably needs to watch the pennies so understandable. We had to walk for what seemed like an age to get to our room from the reception, which was not great. Overall an ok stay but I doubt I would return.

The Good: nice rooms, lots of activities & facilities. Food is reasonably good as is the table service. The grounds/gardens are very attractive. The not-so good: we booked a reunion at the hotel and were surprised to find that last orders in the bar was 10:30 ( both nights) and we were asked to vacate the bar area at 11:00 by a surly member of staff. The bar staff were generally miserable, unwelcoming and struggled with the basics. Given the high bar prices (over £12 for 2 pints of ale), I struggled to understand the business logic of driving customers away from the bar. The golf course is short, tired and largely featureless. The indoor pool was colder than the outdoor pool (extra £25 charge pp/session). Overall, we enjoyed our stay in spite of the above. Very nice setting & with some tweaks, could be worth a return but not yet.

I'm so disappointed. I'm working locally and this hotel came recommended by my organisation. The room seemed nice enough but a bit warm, the dinner was OK, then I went back to my room. I was in 221 in Lakeside on the top floor, by 1am the room had reached 27.6c (my photo is 30 mins before that) the built in HVAC was making noise but doing absolutely nothing. The window was fully open but there was no breeze. It was unbearable, I'm writing this review on less than 2 hours sleep and already know that today is going to be a horrific day. I went down to reception at 1:30am, the gentleman was very understanding and gave me a jug of ice and a fan but being fully booked that's all he could do. Ardencote, it wasn't a very hot day yesterday which means when it was hot-hot last week you would have known the room I stayed in, along with I assume many others in that section, wasn't suitable to be used, yet you still sold it in order to greedily chase max occupancy. I tried to speak to someone at reception about this, thismorning however there was no-one there and when I rang the number, it went to voicemail. Again, disappointing. You have absolutely earned a 1 star review.
