Lovely Inn, I would stay here again. Friendly, helpful staff and the food is fantastic. Large portions, freshly cooked and very tasty - don’t bank on having a pudding though, we were too full to manage a pudding. Our room was lovely, very clean, fresh linens and big white fluffy towels that dried you quickly. En suite toilet, wash basin and shower - the shower was powerful and hot. Tea, coffee, biscuits etc all laid on in the room. Beautiful view from our window too. Netflix available on the tv in the room, bedside lights as well as a main room light, all in all very comfortable.

Went for carvery as often do.There is just one member off staff on bar who comes across as very abrupt, no please or thankyou ever, spoils experience, such a shame as food is good , It makes such a difference a bit of friendliness it goes a long way. I know they are busy but I've worked in this trade and it's not good enough

I cannot understand some of the reviews written here as or experience was exemplary! Very easy booking system, lovely pleasant staff with a 'can do' attitude and helpful all the way through. We had a tasty and piping hot meal served to us in the evening and the staff again were helpful and pleasant despite being fairly busy. We slept well and enjoyed a well cooked and presented breakfast from the buffet - what's not to like? Unfortunately we only stayed the one night on our way to a holiday cottage but both agree that the next time we pass by we will extend our stay over several nights. A really great hotel.

Stayed on the campsite, just perfect for us with 2 dogs. Used the pub onsite throughout our stay, big shoutout to Dellen on the bar, very friendly & excellent customer service skills, she made us feel extremely welcome & we would definitely return here.

Fast food 'quality' with bistro prices. There is nothing quality about this restaurant. Think Break Bros, 3663 and nackers yard meat) poorly cooked and presented. If you have low expectations of eating out then be prepared to be surprised at how low you can go when you eat at this establishment. The only reason they can get away with serving this gruel is because of the tourist trap location.

Last minute visit too meet up with friends. On arrival (early) the lovely Rachel allowed us into our room early. The room was amazing, I would say freshly decorated. It had everything we needed. Tea/Coffee. TV..although rather small! No shower, but a bath, with lovely hot water. Only reason I gave a 4 star..very creaky floorboards, noisy bathroom fan...and radiator that wasn't on...made an horrendous noise at 5am...Evening meal was very nice,Breakfast was 5 star. Bar staff were great. Would be great if they knew more about the history of the Inn...I looked it up myself when I got home. Rachel is definitely a big asset to the Hotel.

A really great tea with the family. Plenty of parking and eating space. Entertainment for kids outside. We were all impressed by the quantity and quality of our meals. They also offer a light meal menu until 5.30pm. This is a large pub but still retains an auro of the mining industry of the surrounding countryside with info boards in all areas.

Food was good. Service very poor. Asked for water at the table when I ordered carvery and alcoholic drinks at the bar. The water Never came. Waitress refused to help. Was told to go to the bar and tell them. Really? 7 people in front of me queueing. Dinner already eaten, my daughter had no drink.

Fairly basic campsite but big pitches and reliable electric hook up. Loos were often out of order or dirty. Showers were lovely and hot though. Drinks were really expensive but food was good (the main reason it’s 3 stars). If you need somewhere just to stop over and have a hot shower in the morning, then you’ll be fine.
