When you stay at Silverstream Alpaca Farmstay and Tour you will enjoy a free 1 hour farm tour. Spend time with family and friends, feeding and photographing the very friendly and inquisitive alpaca, a native of South America.These magnificent animals can be seen just a few hundred metres from the home and will appeal to all age groups and especially families. Hold babies in season (October to April) and cuddle younger animals at your leisure.
The tour concludes with a visit to the fibre shed, trophy room and inhouse alpaca shop where visitors get the chance to feel this incredible fibre and make purchases. It is often described as the fibre of the Gods. The tour is fully escorted by the owner who will provide an entertaining and educational commentary on all things alpaca.
Each cottage has two bedrooms, a lounge, full kitchen, bathroom and balcony. A rollaway bed can be provided for a fifth person.The Silverstream accommodation package includes continental breakfast, the farm tour, free Netflix movies, free parking and free laundry.
Silverstream Alpaca Farm-stay is just a five minute drive from Kaiapoi township and a 20 minute drive north of Christchurch.

We were delighted to visit the alpacas, even though we had missed the regular visiting hours. Hamina kindly met us early in the morning, giving us the opportunity to meet and feed these adorable animals.
The accommodation offered a cozy, homely feel with warm colors like yellow and orange. Equipped with kitchenette, dish washer, fridge and utensils. Our room faced the garden and alpaca farm, providing a pleasant and tranquil view.
We had a restful stay, which prepared us well for the next leg of our journey.

Best Alpaca farmstay! Alpacas are so curious and come right up! Kids were so delighted! Kit & Cheryl are friendly! Fully recommend. House is cosy and has all the amenities. Great stay !

Our last night in New Zealand could have been ordinary. Instead we thoroughly enjoyed our Farmstay, interacting with lovely and interesting people and feeding and holding adorable fluffy alpacas! The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. The town has good restaurants and cafes. And it’s just 17 minutes from Christchurch airport, making it a super-convenient place to stay.

We did the farm tour and it was amazing. Kit was a wonderful guide. He was charismatic informative and really knew how to make this a great experience. Alpacas were beautiful and I’m looking forward to coming back again Will definitely be booking again and highly recommend

Our family (2A + 2C) really enjoyed our stay here. We had the farm tour the afternoon we checked in which was great, we all enjoyed feeding the alpacas. Kit and Cheryl were lovely, making us feel very welcome. Great location only just out of Christchurch and 5 mins from Kaiapoi which has heaps of food options. A great experience and way to end our trip and would definitely recommend

Spent one night here whist travelling south, what a great place to stay. Family run business great accommodation stay included a tour to feed the alpaca’s which was amazing Nothing to much trouble for the staff Definitely would recommend a visit if you are in the area

We had a lot of fun with the alpacas and we had an amazing experience staying here. Owners are very friendly and we had a very informative tour with the alpacas. The accomodation is very spacious and comfortable with great wifi, strong shower and comfortable beddings. Breakfast provided to us was more than adequate with breads, cereal, juice, milk, eggs and fruits. If you are looking to experience a farmstay in Christchurch, this is definitely a great option.
