Bunratty Castle Mews B&B

Stayed here for just the one night touring Ireland. Super warm friendly host and a lovely location. Only 10 minutes or so to a fantastic pub albeit along a narrow lane, with care though it’s safe walk breakfast choice was amazing. Everything you could imagine and more was on offer and good food too. Parking for our motorbikes. My only comment would be the rooms are quite cramped, but that’s with our motorbike luggage in as well everything else was good and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Thanks Dolores

Based on the reviews I wasnt sure what to expect for our three day stay. Yes the rooms are small however we were only in them to sleep. Delores was wonderful, she allowed me to use her clothes line to dray my clothes, she checked on them and moved them around to catch the sun...the area is wonderful and we walked into town a few times. this is a must place to get the real taste of Irish hospitality. Breakfast was brilliant

Bunratty was definitely the most quirky place we stayed in during our recent holiday to Ireland. It's well situated, clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed the breakfast which includes apple pie and bread and butter pudding on the buffet. The room was tiny, the bathroom even smaller and the corridors to the room were very narrow. However, in the narrow corridor there are 3 or 4 chairs with massage cushions you can "relax your tush on" says Delores the owner. Next to that is an air fryer, microwave, fridge with bottles of iced water and milk. Then there is a quiet room to read, and another room which is ideal if you are a family group to socialise. Outside a summer house which Delores told me you could use to go and eat your food you've cooked in the air fryer! The rooms are perhaps a bit overstuffed with personal touches, but Delores is delightful and works hard to ensure guests have everything they need. Whilst we were there for only one night whilst visiting Bunratty Castle Heritage Park **** and the Creamy Pub with live traditional music ***** it was a good stay and we met American, Mexican, South African visitors too.

Welcoming people. Very homely place. Great location. However, our expectations were a little higher because of the cost. The breakfast was not fresh. We ordered two hot breakfasts and it was clear they had been pre cooked and placed in a microwave. I then asked for toast and when it came out, there was green mould on it so we skipped finishing any of it. Walls in the bedroom are very thin as well. We could hear everything. A real shame as it’s in a prime location and has great potential.

Delightfully greeted upon arrival and shown around the home and our room. Was also provided with a great deal of information regarding local resources and locations in the area we may wish to visit. Hallway to the rooms was a wonderful gallery of early Hollywood movie stars. The Hallway area also has a display for many of the local attractions and three complimentary wonderful massage chairs. Perfect after a day of walking around the sights or even after making the fifteen-minute walk back from one of the local restaurants. We were offered the choice of two rooms, and while the one we chose was of smaller size, it had a wonderful rural view, including a castle and a paddock (just over the hedge) filled with livestock. Particularly, philosophical cows. The room also had a very comfortable double bed, bedside cabinets, seats and shelving to accommodate a comfortable stay. Ensuite bathroom was of sufficient size to accommodate a good shower, toilet, basin and sufficient shelving to place toiletries. Complimentary breakfast was absolutely exceptional. The range of what was offered was incredible, and it is doubted anyone would have any cause for complaint While located in the rural area, it was still within easy walking distance of the town centre of Bunratty. Excellent free Wi-fi was also provided.

We arrived long before check-in, since our flight got in at the crack of dawn. Dolores was so friendly and accommodating! She offered us a place in the outdoor tent to relax while she set up our rooms, and had a couple of them ready in no time (we had 4 rooms for a bigger group of 2 families). The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. We did Durty Nelly’s for lunch and the Bunratty banquet for dinner, and it was all less than a 5 minute drive away. Breakfast had a huge selection. We left the next morning, and ended up having an issue with lost bags being delivered there, after we checked out and had moved on. Dolores worked with the airline and the courier to have the bags sent on to our next location, and was incredibly responsive to my emails throughout. Just an all around amazing experience. Would absolutely go back!
