Recommend 10-10! Ideal location for seeing the area (must secure transportation and have an idea of other dining options). A real country house experience with all the expected services of a small luxe hotel. The farm-to-table cuisine, cozy guest rooms and pub, living room, and stunning furnishings and artwork (!!) were a huge plus! The grounds were just lovely, relaxing, and also great for well behaved kids with small games on the front lawn, and beautiful view of Galway Bay that I wasn't expecting. The staff was friendly and attentive to every need. Our family had a wonderful time- Gregans far exceeded our expectations and would absolutely recommend and stay again with family or as a couple on a romantic getaway in European countryside!

From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed. Walking the grounds and simply sitting in the garden was a beautiful way to spend the day—peaceful, serene, and truly restorative. The afternoon tea is an absolute must-do; it was the highlight of our trip. Not only was it delicious, but it was also wonderful to see how thoughtfully they incorporated local vendors into the experience. Every detail of our visit felt magical.

Gregan's is not a castle, but it's a wonderful, top-notch hotel. The grounds are gorgeous, the views are stunning, the hotel itself is impeccable, and they have cats! (Not as in a cat-lady kind of way, though.) You must book dinner during your stay--we thought the prix fixe menu beat out even Homestead Cottage by a hair. In the hotel, our room was a little bit small but we made it work. It was also hot, but we were there during a heat wave (for Ireland). Super breakfast spread included. Reasonably priced afternoon tea for a bit extra. Be aware that you will drive the corkscrew road many times to get anywhere in the area. Hold onto your hats!

We had dinner here on Saturday night. The French waiters were excellent. The food and wine was fair, well presented but a bit disappointing. The wines were very expensive. The cheapest bottle there was an Italian white from Abruzzo region of Italy 49.00 euro, The Sommelier explained and let me taste 2 reds. I choose a full body french wine at 50.00 euro. He didn't open or serve our wine but we could see he was falling over another table in the centre of the restaurant. Clearly more important guests to pander to. The dinner menu had choices of 3 starters and 3 mains. Starters were 1. Vegetarian courgette. 2. Macrael puree with edible flowers and a green sauce. Picture below. My friend choose the sweet breads, veal offal. I tasted but it wouldn't be my choice. She liked it. The 3 mains were pork belly, Halibut with miniature baby carrots and sauce. No potato of any type on the menu. We asked! Chef Farrell is irish I understand. 3rd main course was breast of duck which was tough, lacked taste and served with miniature white hard turnip, baby carrot with celeriac puree and a sweet sauce, edible flowers. It was presented well but the taste was not there. My friend didn't finish it. Dessert was good. My friend choose the cheese board which had an additional supplement of 6 euro, which we didn't see on the menu. I had a strawberry jam meringue, cream cheese and the lemon complimented the sweetness. It was good. The petit fours are a joke. Size of a 1 euro coin all 3 of them. We left them after us in the drawing room. A pretentious menu. Not good value or quality of food. Disappointing overall.

Very basic but expensive hotel without any atmosphere and fantasy. Nothing special on the room, no cofee, thee, wather etc. Quality ratio is lost. The quality of radio music in the restaurant is not to be listened to, in the morning during breakfast was loud and bad. The kitchen is oke but not for that price of € 110 per person.
