The location of the hotel is fantastic-town centre, in front of the beach, sea view. Parking is alright, at the back yard. Staff is very friendly, nice and helpful, let us in 1 hour prior to official check in time. Soundproofing is good, didn’t hear our neighbours. Breakfast was lavish, fresh and tasty. In this property location sells itself. The building is tired, but luckily maintained. Curtains in the room are crying to be washed, dust is not wiped for days (if not weeks), tv was very stinky and not working, our bed was small and short for two of us (queen size I believe), water pressure in shower was too weak, carpets with all the possible stains, same as sofa, very unpleasant; waited for our breakfast for more than half an hour (though I received my vegetarian breakfast as I requested in my booking), coffee was only instant. I think, one night stay was too pricey for what it has, but overall impression is still rather good. Summary - if you want a good location with easy access to the Clacton city centre and the beach - here you go, just don’t expect a lot

Dirty room, shower was filthy and blocked with hair which made it over flow.Which resulted in not using it. Paint stripping off walls, dust behind TV, Cobwebs in the window. No TV remote in the room the signal was really bad. Breakfast was standard but believe it was heated up. Room was really small and faced a nasty dirty back area which was noisy from 6 am with tumble dryers on. The corridor stank of cigarettes and the bathroom you couldn't swing a cat in it. You have to pay £6 to park for the day. Will not be back

Social housing hostel. Not a hotel. Several families and a mental health patient staying there. Room was ok but window latches broken, plug in sink stuck, water pressure terrible, unable to wash hair. Noise from a machine of some sort. Noise in the early morning from families that are living there. Caribbean take away in hotel which made our room smell. Breakfast ok. No fruit or yoghurt available. Staff socialising while you are eating your breakfast, one worker had su h foul language. Every other word started with F! It was the worst place I have ever stayed in.

I had read the reports after I booked, was pretty worried but the place was amazing, staff so helpful, room overlooking sea was clean and tidy, bed so comfortable, I would recommend this hotel as one of the best in Clacton, and breakfast was amazing plus at night they do beautiful fish and chips plus goat curry is fabulous.

We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 5yr and 2yr) we stayed lastnight 23/3/24 in room 31. The parking is limited and you can easily get blocked in. The room was spacious. Beds were clean and comfortable. Bathroom was clean however toilet was super noisy when flushing and made random noises which would scare my little two as their sensitive to noises. We all suffered a terrible night sleep as every-time another guest was coming into the hotel front door which was right next to a door that entered ours. It was all hours guests were in and out. Definitely would think the hotel wouldn’t place a family with young children near the door where they could be disturbed throughout the night. Definitely would not justify paying £105 for a night stay with our experience. The only thing we did enjoy was the breakfast this morning. Wouldn’t stay again unfortunately

Perfect location to walk to places. Undergoing renovation but that did not affect us at all, be great to see when it's finished. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast cooked fresh to order. Parking bit difficult for amount of rooms but we got in and was happy. Staff all seem to do a bit of everything which was nice. Excellent size room with a sea view. Thanks for a lovely birthday trip.

Nice big room but no heating on at all in room we were frozen all night and no extra blankets in room to help . The bedside lamps had the bulbs taken out so very dangerous to get out during night as you had to feel for main switch . When I reported heating in morning their reply was its on a timer which is rubbish it had not been on at all in our room no 25 . Breakfast bacon overcooked toast still very white . Asked for 2 eggs on each portion and only received one . Not worth the £65 paid for one night . They were painting at night and the fumes from paint was bad .
