Before the pandemic, this used to be my favorite place in all of Costa Rica to rest and relax for a day in wonderful hot springs… It's a shame that the effects of the pandemic on tourism businesses are still so strong: now this place is terrible, The infrastructure is not properly maintained, the bathrooms do not work, the locker rooms are damaged and dirty, the lighting does not work, etc. I hope that one day this place will return to the wonderful place it was before the pandemic. Also the food in the restaurant is of very low quality, I couldn't eat my lunch. I accept that the price for entering for a day (without accommodation) is VERY cheap, but I would prefer to have to pay more and have more appropriate facilities and better quality food.

We went on an ATV tour to this hot spring. Had a fantastic day time with our kids. Even on a Saturday, it wasn’t too busy and we had personal space to relax. Great up keep with the pools and fun shakes for the kids. Lots of options depending on the heat that you want. This is a place that doesn’t make the top ten but is exactly the place I have in my mind when I think Costa Rica hot springs.

The hot springs were a wonderful and relaxing experience! The location of the springs is reached by a path through the forest. It’s like walking through the jungle and at the end reaching a glorious area of hot spring pools in which to relax. There’s a very rustic changing area and lockers, but also a bar with food. It was a hidden gem! I highly recommend it!

Let me start off by stating the rooms at Termales del Bosque are moderately priced (we got a dinner, breakfast, room and entrance to Termales for about $70 US), so you have to consider what you are getting for the cost of your stay. Yes, the rooms are lackluster - no fridge and the mattresses are thin, but you have Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and a shower. The free breakfast is a traditional CR breakfast and we weren't provided any alternative options, which we were ok with. The Termales were a lot of fun for us (we are healthy 50 year-olds), and the trek down the path (during the day) was just fine for us. While there, we had a true Costa Rican downpour and watched as the river filled up and rushed by, but no worries, you are safe and sound and can return to your car (or room) with no problem. This undoubtedly is a place that is frequented by locals and travelers alike. We went during a weekday, so the pools were not very crowded and it was neat to experience what felt like an authentic experience.

We were at the hot springs and had a great time. The man from the cafeteria showed us everything perfectly, told us very interesting things and we felt at home. A very quiet place away from everything touristy. A place with a lot of magic, highly recommended.

Excellent food! It is a beautiful place and the treatment is very friendly and pleasant. I recommend using volcanic clay for your face, it is very good for your skin. Excellent hot springs. I only recommend a little more maintenance to the facilities but everything is perfect!

The Hotel is located in a privileged place, the landscapes are incomparable. But the facilities in general are very neglected and it is evident that they lack maintenance. The restaurant can be summed up in one word; Disastrous! The food is truly terrible and quite expensive, I don't understand how a place with so much potential doesn't pay attention to these basic aspects, it's very unfortunate.
