I had a single room self catering. Unfortunately, the adjacent bedroom wall to my unit is porous. You hear everything from the bedroom next door. I had smokers next door and the smoker's cough is disturbing. Lack of sleep each night for me. In addition, big red signs saying no smoking on the Patio's, but the guests disregarded that. you couldn't sit and enjoy a barbeque on the patios because of their smoking. I've been there before, but after this experience, never again. Not relaxing at all this visit. You can't sit outside and enjoy the animals because of guests disregarding rules and smoking on patios. The establishment has no proper management of that. Making the stay an unpleasant one.

Whilst South Africa may not get the praise for safaris that other African countries may get don’t discount the Ivory Tree Lodge, just a 2.75 hours drive from Johannesburg which offers unparalleled game drives, stunning accommodations and food, all matched with exemplary levels of service. We enjoyed a five night stay here inclusive of daily game drives. It can be a bit of a ‘workout’ if you want to exploit all the drives which are often 3.5hrs per drive and operate twice daily. The first drive leaves before sunrise at 5.30am and the second leaves at 4.30pm. You may enjoy both, one or none depending on your preferred itinerary. We thoroughly enjoyed our two drives each day undertaken by our driver, Gold. Gold has incredible knowledge of the park, animals, flora & fauna and educates you in an informative and fun way. We saw all the BIG 5 during our stay along with hundreds more! Special appreciation go out to all the hotel team for genuine levels of exemplary hospitality, particularly Rosemary who was instrumental in organizing my partners big birthday during our stay along with Aaron, Joyce & Emma in catering to our exact needs. The accommodation is of a high standard with all creature comforts accounted for. The food offered from breakfast to dinner was excellent. We look forward to our return visit.

The room is not big and the bed is small. If you have booked on trips, you'd better confirm that the travel agency agent booked the room you want. Then the mattress collapsed and I slept very tired. Can hear the noise all night don't know what machine in the hotel is causing it. Bathroom: toilet and shower The bathtub is very small, the hot and cold water is not well adjusted, and the bathrobe is too old. Restaurant: Buffet in the morning and in the evening. There are not many things to accept in the morning. You can sit outside and face the swimming pool to feed the birds. They like to eat grapes. The quality of the buffet at night is very poor and it is not recommended to eat. You can go to the grill room next to you to eat, remember to make an appointment, that location is great for taking pictures, bonfire + dinner. Travel: The hotel has a fixed number of buses to pick you up to the area you want to go to the resort. If you drive by yourself, you can only park your car at the hotel. There is basically no parking space outside and you cannot drive in the park by yourself. Summary: If you come to Sun City, South Africa, this hotel is worth staying, and it is worthy of the 5-star feeling. But don't be too demanding about the food. The overall score is 7.8, which is one of the must-see items when you come to South Africa.

The five-star hotel in Sun City has a good overall style. It is not a designated hotel for the tour group. The breakfast is OK. It is close to the commercial center and convenient to all places.

Sun City is a large resort with lots to do on site for all the family. This was a short visit and I had a pleasant stay. The resort site is big but transport is provide around the grounds. The room is a good size and was suitable for our needs. The food at breakfast had a lot of choice and staff very helpful. The restaurant was busy at breakfast but the queue for food was not too bad. There are a choice of restaurants you can choose from and also valley of the waves is popular if you have children. I also did the safari and this was an enjoyable part of the trip.
