We visit the lakewalk often. This was our first stay here on the Lake Superior lakefront and this place and location were wonderful! Situated down the walk from the canal, it’s more peaceful here, and there is ample spots outdoors to enjoy the lakefront at night (fire pit too) day and even breakfast. The hotel is decorated with leather rustic and nice interior (smells new!) and has ample space to gather and be, inside and out. We had a Lakeview room and it was worth it, despite no balcony. It’s a short hop to the lakewalk and walk to the canal and bridge to your right, or walk down towards Fitgers and Leif Erickson park to your left. Breakfast was plenty and what a delight to not only have real silverware and plates, but you had a person serving the eggs and mornin sausage to each person. Great place. Would definitely come back and stay here.
553588073Very solid choice. Opened in 2021 and still looking great inside and out. Things in the room makes sense and just work like you want them to. Above average uotel breakfast in a pleasant, spacious breakfast area. Quiet, located away from the waterfront crowds but maybe 7 minutes drive to downtown and plenty of retail nearby. Staff couldn't have been more friendly.
CColleen NelsonThis would have been PERFECT except that on our last night, it sounded as if there was a track meet going on in the room above us. Ground floor room had a great view of the the lake and just steps to the boardwalk. We were.there to watch big ships come & go (husband thing) and couldn't have asked for a better location. Room was large and very clean...with new flooring, great windows that opened, and a comfortable bed.
The stay was alright but there were definitely several marks on the sheets when my wife checked for bed bugs, not to say it was bed bugs, it was just uncomfortable. Regardless, she went to the front desk to ask for a sheet change but the front desk clerk was the only one there. My wife was given new sheets for us to change as there was no housekeeping left, alternatively, to change rooms. We didn’t want to move as we had settled in for the evening. We just thought it was very unprofessional to simply give us the sheets and expect us to change it ourselves.
When we walked in we were welcomed and upgraded to a better room with more space and I felt welcomed the only downside is the parking tickets which you only pay 7 dollars for all the times you leave the hotel. It is a very nice place there is this guy who’s name is katon he is very humble at the front desk and very fun to talk too 10/10 experience
GGuest UserThe rooms, well the whole building was very clean. The main thing I don’t like about this place is the fact they have no elevator for guests. You have to lug all your stuff up a flight of stairs. I didn’t eat breakfast but my husband did. He says it’s ok. All in all a great place to stay!
I slept very well. I appreciated the mattress and the fluffy pillows. Room 107 is a big room without carpet on the floor. A “no-frills” motel. Ample amount of parking spaces. Very helpful employee checked me in, and another employees happily greeted me when I left the next morning. The chalking around the bathtub needs to be replaced or bleached. I noticed the chalking because I took a hot bath, but someone taking a shower would not notice this. Upon entering the motel, the entryway had overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke, but my room certainly did not. Coffee was available in the lobby. I couldn’t find the Bible in my room. I’d stay here again if I was in the area.
GGuest UserI want to start by saying the staff was very kind, polite, and accommodating and I have no complaints about them whatsoever. The hotel itself however is a different story. Our room and the hallways smelled like stale cigarettes. The room was very dated, not the end of the world, but the shower was so old and stained/moldy that we didn't even want to use it. We cut our stay short and left after one night. The elevator made us uncomfortable so we didn't bother to go check out the rooftop restaurant (this may not be the case for everyone, but we had read reviews from others who also felt uncomfortable in the elevator). We were also sad to see the area nearby had changed considerably over the last few years and we didn't feel safe or comfortable there (we realize the hotel can't control this but it was a contributing factor to us leaving). Overall we felt the price was very high for the quality of the hotel. For what we considered a relatively small amount more money we were able to stay in a hotel with a better parking lot, fresher/cleaner rooms, free breakfast, more amenities, and in a nicer area.
