Outstanding
DDarylNice room and location. We were able to get a river view room on the 2nd floor. It also overlooks Parkway, and the Titanic Museum, Hatfield V McCoy, Wonderworks, and Beyond the Lens could be seen not far away. It's a little bit noisy there starting in the morning but we didn't notice any noise during sleep time. The indoor pool was the only one open. It's not really big but it's nice. Breakfast was a hot, buffet-style hotel meal. Waffle maker, scrambled eggs and/or bacon, coffee, hot chocolate, french vanilla hot chocolate (not chocolate of course), various pastries, cereal, OJ, yogurt (with nuts and granola available). What I ate of that was good.
We stayed 3 nights during our Spring Break. The area was extremely busy all the time. Pigeon Forge provides convenient access to Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
GGuest UserThe housekeeping staff was very helpful. The room was clean and spacious.
We were in the building across the river. Member of party was not able to walk to breakfast area and the parking area was severely lacking enough spaces (not to mention hard to maneuver in). So we were never able to take advantage of the complimentary breakfast.
The parking area for the room itself was small. There were cars having to park wherever they could.
The kids really enjoyed the geese and ducks and other critters we saw in the area. By being on the first floor, we were able to enjoy the animals up close. And we enjoyed being next to the river. It was very peaceful.
ZzachedelicThis place had SO much potential, but little by little, it proved to be a hotel I cannot recommend in good conscience.
I booked a ‘Honeymoon Suite’ for my wife and I, from the date of January 21st to January 25th. The receptionist that checked us in was friendly, but was facing the dilemma of deciding which room to put my wife and me in, because a water line had burst the previous night, causing the cold water to shut off completely for the first couple days of our stay.
The receptionist (at the time of my check-in), was likely also a/the manager, and she offered to switch our room out for another. I declined, however, due to the fact that none of the available, vacant rooms had jetted jacuzzi tubs in them, and the jetted tub was one of the biggest features which drew me into booking the room.
We ended up staying in the original room (with the temporarily broken water line), and the manager told me it would be no issue to appropriately partially refund our money, or compensate us for the many issues we experienced, monetarily.
Okay there’s a bit to talk about here. Mostly good! Cons: If you are a bit of a clean nut - this place isn’t for you. The one *major* thing that bothered me was the bedding. There wasn’t a mattress cover between the sheet and the mattress and I just kept thinking about everyone who laid there before me. The carpet was in need of a steam because if you walked barefoot it made your feet turn black. I wore my flip flops the whole time. The room smelled a bit like smoke and we ended up going to get an air freshener. We did also have turn down service but they only did our bathroom and didn’t make our bed. Very funny lol but we weren’t too upset. I think the place just needs to be renovated/a deep clean and it would be perfect. I was in room 266. Also, the breakfast isn’t eggs and bacon etc. It’s biscuits and gravy which in my opinion was not the tastiest and simple things like cereal and bagels. It’s great in a pinch. Pros: That river balcony is everything. It’s such a soothing sound and you see bears almost every day. We saw 3 bears during our stay. I would come back just for that! There are two pools which are often never used. There is one that seems to be for adults which I had to myself one afternoon. The walk to town is about a mile one way - which after hiking the smokies all day is the last thing you want to do but it’s nice to be out of the crowds. Amazing breakfast and bbq spot across the street. The staff were so nice and helpful. Overall - happy with the experience but I am someone who is picky about sanitation and that’s why I docked the star. You get what you pay for. If you don’t mind an older spot that needs some love, this is a perfect place.
BBeth VaughnThis hotel looks a little worn. The carpet definitely needs to be replaced, but my room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. The room was large. It had a television, iron and ironing board, coffee maker, and a refrigerator. There were complimentary toiletries and the towels were well stocked. There was no noise at all. I slept well and felt safe. The door had double locks. The air conditioning worked well.
Check in was fast and easy and the gentleman working was very friendly. The indoor pool was large and very clean. There was also a fitness room that seemed well equipped.
The free breakfast consisted of waffles, cereal, toast, pastries, and boiled eggs. Not a huge variety but I got full and it was free. The vending machines have a good variety and were well stocked.
I was surprised that there is no hair dryer in the room. I had to run to the store to buy one.
I stayed here on a work trip. I would definitely stay here again. Overall I was very satisfied. The room is extremely no frills with an older feel to it, but I was not there to stay in the room. I was provided a very clean and safe place to sleep, I was treated well, and spoiled a little with a clean, warm indoor pool and free waffles for breakfast. I rested well in a comfortable bed with no noise or distractions. I am a happy customer!
Bbrookehicks87It was okay. They could use bigger and thicker blankets. And more pillows. Housekeeping everyday. Make the beds. Not just change the towels. Other then that had a awesome day week we was there. Will be back in August of next year. Will be up in September for bristol race
JJc ElcevichSo I expected the basic hotel stay considering it was the cheapest hotel in the area? I had already stayed a week at one of the most expensive hotels on the strip and just decided to stay a couple days longer but save a few dollars! Everything was spotless clean compared to the more expensive hotel I stayed at the week before. I was truly shocked honestly it was such a pleasure the people were very nice and very helpful each time I needed something. The rooms sheets blankets were immaculate I mean the cleaning staff went above and beyond, the pool was stunning and it was open 24 hours which I had not seen at too many other hotels we stayed at. If you're looking for the cheapest place to stay and actually getting your money's worth especially nowadays this is the hotel for you & your family; it's everything you would expect in more for the price you pay... And it's right on the main strip 2 minutes from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and six minutes from downtown Gatlinburg! Tennesse was the BEST trip we ever went on as a family and we have been almost EVERYWHERE.
