It is located at the end of River Street,
but it is the newest hotel in Savannah, very clean and comfortable.
There is a cafe and a rooftop bar in the hotel,
so there are no shops right near the hotel,
but it was not inconvenient.
The only downside is that there is no parking, so you have to pay for nearby public or street parking!
(While I'm giving the property Hilton Garden Inn Savannah management a ZERO rating, the Hilton Executive Office deserves the top rating for its responsiveness and quality of communication). I've spent one night at the Hilton Garden Inn Savannah Midtown on July 9th-10th. I stayed with my parents (in their 70s) in the same room. While the state of the property is sub-standard given the brand name and the room rate, I'm not gonna comment on that. When I got home from the trip, in addition to the $216 charge that I was expecting, I noticed another $267.50 charge. Thinking that there must be a mistake, I called the hotel the same day to inquire about it, to be told that the charge is for ”smoking in the room”. Knowing that no one in our group smokes, I asked for clarifications for something that at best was a mistake on the part of the property. The hotel operator told me that I need to speak to the manager, Joshua Matthews. On July 13th and July 14th, 2022, I called the hotel for a total of 6 times and left 3 messages to the manager Joshua Matthews, indicating the reason and details of my problem and my phone number where I can be reached. To this day, I have not heard back from the hotel. I escalated the issue with the Hilton Executive Office, that called me within 24 hours and clarified the issue, promising me to reimburse the smoking charge. To be clear, the refund will come from the Executive Office, because apparently the property at Garden Inn Savannah Midtown continued to refuse to refund me the smoking charge. So I am going to get my money back, but I find disturbing that an entity that has your credit card information can just charge you random fees and refuse to even talk to you afterwards. While at first I was inclined to think that this may have been an honest mistake, I am more convinced now that it was deliberate, so if you chose to stay here I'd advise 1. to pay with a credit card, 2. to get the room inspected at checkout and 3. to keep an eye on your credit card statement.
Wow, how to begin. The hotel and rooms are quite beautiful and the never ending view along the river with the almost constant movement of gigantic ships, is mesmerized. The location is also perfect with enough restaurants and shops within close proximity that you can find plenty to keep occupied even on the occasional rainy day. Now, with all that said, a caveat to any travelers wanting any semblance of rest. The second floor rooms are pure nightmare. There appears to be some sort of a supply room on that floor. The staff likes to use it for rather loud gossip and partying and when not in use by the staff, there apparently is a bowling league practice in there! The noise from tables and chairs and dishes being moved around at times even late into the night is just aggregating! The walls offer absolutely NO help in reducing the racket. Would we return to River Street Inn again? YES! As a matter of fact, we can't wait to return but, only if we would be guaranteed a room on the 4th or 5th floor!

Perfect spot to rest your head after spending the day in the historic district- it’s quiet, clean and beautiful. A quick walk to the riverfront and a fantastic view of the ships coming through on the river.

The hotel by the Savannah River should be the best local hotel among the regular hotels. The only dissatisfaction is that the management is a bit messy. We have been deducting our credit card at random, and the fee has never been clarified. Through the unremitting communication of the Ctrip housekeeper, it is finally confirmed that the overcharge has been charged. I have not received a refund yet. I hope everything goes well.
Love this hotel directly on River St with easy access to food, shops, and river. Have stayed here all 3 trips to Savannah and will continue when we come again. The customer service is great beginning with the valet and this carries all the way through to housekeeping. Love it. See you again soon
From the moment we walked in the door, we felt welcome. Sean went out of his way to find us an upgraded room based on my Titanium status with Marriott. We loved our corner suite! Alejandra immediately gave us water bottles and offered us cookies. The hotel is in a perfect location (walking distance everywhere). Alex and Alejandra at the front desk were extremely helpful and we became BFFs quickly. The only negative to our stay was that it was too short. We will most definitely return!!!

Just came back from 5 nights stay. Loved loved it! Shout out to Aby and Theresa at the front desk. So professional, helpful and fun! Loved seeing their Chic fun eye glasses every day! Aby upgraded us to High floor River front, what a great view, watched the vessels, ferries and Savanna Queen pass by every day! Mark the concierge very nice and helpful, booked hop/off bus tour w him. Location is the best! Walk to shops, restaurants, river, historical sites in just minutes. Right next to The Pink house ( great food btw). Other hotels claim they are in best location, but we found they were closer to highway overpasses and we were so glad we picked the HI express !! Used the Roof top Pool and jacuzzi every day! Hotel Bar hours not open during our stay. Bkfst standard continental, but convenient to start the day and save our $ for lunches or dinners! Beds comfortable. Great WiFi and hot water! Rooms spacious. Has a room safe. Highly recommend and Will def return on our next trip!

Very Good
The hotel is great and is located perfectly in historic Savanna. Everything is within walking distance. If you like the sound of yapping dogs, then this is the hotel for you! We had the experience of yapping dogs next door to our room. The dogs barked during the day and night. After the third complaint to the hotel staff, the sound of barking yapping dogs ceased. The hotel staff said they would take care of it and it seems that they did. Keep your animals at home. There is no need to inconvenience others because of your selfishness. Dogs aren’t children. I’d rather hear the sound of children than yapping dogs. I will certainly find a hotel that doesn’t allow dogs on my next visit to Savannah. Breakfast at the hotel is not worth it. I recommend going to one of the local establishments. Overall, the hotel was clean and the staff was friendly.
GGuest UserStaff were exceptional--everyone from front desk staff to the bartender and breakfast staff. All very nice and accommodating. Rooms were very clean and had what we needed. They don't have a gym on site but have a relationship with a local gym for hotel guests (if that matters to you). We were able to walk into the downtown area and felt safe doing so (about .5 miles from our hotel) but they also offer a shuttle with a very lovely driver who took great care of us! I would recommend this hotel if staying in Savannah.
Great location and spacious rooms, perfect for staying a few nights in Savannah. The rooms are close to the main shopping area and near to the city market and riverside. Also close to stops for the dot free shuttle service to Forsyth park and beyond. The bedroom was close to the hallway, the living room (with sofa bed) was on the street side. There was a shop being fitted next door while we stayed so there was some noise from about 7am that affected the living room but normally that wouldn’t be an issue and the road was otherwise very quiet. The kitchen has plenty of crockery and cutlery, a big fridge freezer, oven/hobs, microwave and dishwasher. There’s also a washing machine and dryer. All the bits and pieces you would need for washing up and laundry are provided, with stock available if you run out. The air con is powerful, to the extent that I was coming indoors to cool off and going back out to warm up, an odd experience for a Brit ( and maybe a more experienced user of air con would have found a less chilly setting 😁). It is possible to store luggage if you arrive early or after you’ve checked out. I got into a bit of difficulty with finding the codes (phone didn’t want to work abroad and I had multiple places to search). I popped over to the office a block or so away but there was noone around. Fortunately I had the app downloaded (recommend doing this ahead of time!) and all the codes are available once I looked in the right place. What with email and texts and the app I was in a middle but the information was all available and the storage was most convenient.
AAlmenarLocation is great because has a public parking lot right across. Check the map at lobby before you start walking or can end up walking unnecessary miles. Love the Breakfast and price was reasonable. Room was very clean and beds are super comfortable.
GGuest UserWe had Nick as our valet most of our stay at Hotel Indigo in Savannah GA and he was so kind, helpful and just a refreshing wonderful human! In today’s world where we are having trouble finding great employees Nick is a keeper! Thanks for always making us smile Nick!
GGuest UserThe hotel is located on the edge of the historic district, so it is a quick 10-15 minute walk to either River Street or even Forsyth Park. Even the standard suites are larger than most other similar properties. The beds were comfortable and the linens and towels were above average. All employees from the front desk to the breakfast servers and cleaning staff were very pleasant and friendly. Rated lower in the facility category as the outside landscaping by the sidewalks was **** filled and over grown. This really detracted from the exterior appearance. The fitness was large and has a good amount of cardio equipment but only had one, torn workout bench, no area/mats for core work and the hand weights were missing all 20lb and 25lb pairs. There should be other strength training options. The breakfast food options were presented in an attractive manner with good over all quality.
PPINGThere is a parking lot opposite, but the charge is not cheap. I lived in a sofa bed, the service staff was very kind and very safe. After 11 o'clock in the evening, the door was closed and the card was checked in. There was a black brother on duty at the door. The bed is very comfortable and very high. It is very high. I use it. The old beauty facilities are simple and practical. They are not luxurious but not refined but strong!
MMatheusIt was just in the outskirts of the historic district, so the location lending to a little more sketchiness on the outside. We made sure to leave nothing in the car. Once in the hotel we felt completely safe and secure. The hotel room was well used… they. Phoebe cleaned the bathroom better. The pool was a gross color. But for the price we were able to walk to all of the historic places in Savannah we wanted to, as well as get a good nights sleep and a good breakfast in the morning. Overall if I can back to Savannah I’d probably opt to pay more to stay somewhere nicer, but this fit the bill for the time being.
Great location and overall. Love the area. Not sure what to add to make it the 200 words minimum for a review. Always a great stay when in the area. Friendly staff and good service. Very quiet environment. Staff is helpful with your needs. Happy
