Booked this based on the reviews. Arrived later in the evening and informed our room was given away (king). Apologized and was told we’d be put in a double accessible room. We were fine with this. It was a long day and we were tired so just wanted to shower and sleep. We were also given a card for complimentary breakfast. I wish I remembered the name of the person who checked us in. It was clear he was apologetic and wanted to help. We arrive to our room and on the initial entry to our floor noticed it seemed under construction maybe? Paint was unfinished along the bottom baseboards in the hall, but no biggie. Entered our room and it seemed okay. Large. Unpacked and prepared to shower. Moved the shower curtain back and there’s a HUGE ball of wet hair clustered on the tub. The toilet area has stains. I was so grossed out I could barely speak. I attempted to call down and the phone didn’t work in the room! Went down and showed the photo. Again, same person apologetic and moved us to another room. Still unkempt but we were soooo tired we just ****** it up, wiped down the bathroom ourselves (brought Lysol) and went to bed. Had breakfast the next day and the person in the breakfast area was so nice. When we checked out I attempted to speak with someone about our issues the previous night but there was only one person at the desk. She took my name, said “ you’re good”, and picked up the phone that was ringing off the hook. I wasn’t even asked the general “how was your stay”. We had a flight to catch so I couldn’t wait. I stay many places, most types. While I’d love to give a higher rating as most of the professionals I encountered were pleasant and caring, I just cannot in good conscious leave a higher review due to the cleanliness. I check here before I book ANYWHERE and I’m always looking for comments about customer service and cleanliness. For those like me, I want to save you the stress. Book elsewhere. Oh and if you’re wondering, yes, I was charged the full rate for my stay.
Stayed over for a weekend as I had a couple of events to attend. I didn't have any interactions with the front desk staff as I check-in and out from my phone, although I was greeted each time I entered/exited. I'll give this hotel a shoutout for not having the air conditioners in the rooms limited, if you want the room to go down to 60 degrees, the AC will go down to 60 degrees. The pool is small but perfect for 2-3 families at most, the complimentary breakfast was small but satisfactory for what it was and did the job. The only thing that would keep me from giving this hotel the highest ratings are the following: - The rooms are a bit dated, and the bathrooms (specifically toilets) can use an upgrade. - You can hear the RT17 traffic from your room, the only thing louder than the traffic was the refrigerator in the room. - The elevators are extremely slow so if you are above the 3rd floor it can be annoying to go up and down. - The mattresses (we had the king-size bed) were extremely thin to the point you could feel the springs pressing into your body as you sleep. - The night we had one of the events we could drive through the entrance way as we did normally as there were 2 cars parked there. When we go to the entrance it was a bunch of people hanging out and smoking **** with both cars parked and playing music loudly. (This could be a one-time thing here but I was only there 1 night) Overall, for what I needed a hotel for this stay, just a place to sleep for 1 night. I don't believe I could do more.

We stayed here as one of stops during our road trip. It’s so hard to find a safe, clean modern hotels within budget in the area we were traveling to. We decided to pick this hotel based on travelers pictures and reviews. Yes, the hotel is outdated but not as bad. The bathroom looks like ones in 90’s. The carpets especially in hallways looked to be updated. Having said that, the hotel in surprisingly clean particularly the bathroom. I used to work in a hotel before and recently stayed at a courtyard hotel in another town and I could see some mildew / mold in shower but I didn’t see any in this outdated looking bathroom - Kudos to housekeeping team! In terms of parking, I saw ‘park at your own signs at parking lot. Not sure what it means but just want to give a heads up to everyone planning to stay here. Having said that, our stay was safe and comfortable overall.
The room was clean, the beds were very comfortable. My daughters enjoyed the pool and it was a great location us.
Not forgetting the Mexican restaurant next door, delicious. The children had a blast in there.
We have stayed at this Fairfield several times. From desk staff pleasant and helpful. Rates are reasonable considering proximity to NYC. Room was clean and everything functioned (microwave, coffee maker, mini-fridge). Beds very comfortable. There was a good variety of breakfast offerings, just wish there was a waffle maker. Breakfast crowds depend largely on whether a school group is staying there. Breakfast staff kept things stocked as best they could. Wish there was a waffle maker, but that probably would have slowed things down considerably at the buffet. Very conveniently located on the NJ Transit bus line into the city, schedule and easy to read directions available at the front desk. Bus info needs to be updated with changed fares. Would stay here again.
Hey 4 of us stayed here and had no issues. We were pleased with the friendliness of the Staff including Alexis at Front Desk and the team around her! we chose this location because we were traveling for a cruise.. Chicken Sausage for breaskfast was a great selection! thanks marriott team
I had a great stay here. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are big. The kitchenette has great cabinet space and the fridge is a large size. The location is isolated and quiet but very close to New York City if you are looking to save some money by staying outside of Manhattan.
The hotel is conveniently located at 2 high speeds. It is a 16-minute drive from PATH Station. Free parking at the hotel. If you are going to Manhattan, it is best to park your car in the PATH parking lot, 12 kn / 10 hours. The hotel price is relatively affordable, but I booked the price increase for the second time. Many Indian guests in the hotel.
The biggest problem is that the independent heater cannot be turned off, which makes it extremely noisy at night. I didn't sleep well all night and was very tortured. Another problem is that the outbound transportation is not very convenient. You need to find the boarding point at the Port authority bus terminal and learn how to use the automatic ticket vending machine or app to buy long-distance bus tickets (but the number of trains is quite dense), or It cost over $50 to take a taxi. If you don't mind these two points, there is nothing wrong with this hotel.
