Excellent
This weekend I traveled with my two daughters (ages 17 and 28) and my granddaughter (18 months). Overall we had a great experience. We have stayed here two other times and were planning on setting up a group block for a competition in June. At approx 6:30am on Sun 4/7 I requested a late checkout. Our schedule for the entire weekend was crazy as we were in town forna competition. My daughter was scheduled for a 7:30 am event that day, and we had just gotten back from the previous evening's events after 1:00 am. We had very little time to sleep, let alone pack. I told the gentleman at the desk we should be able to be out between 12-1pm. We returned to the hotel at 12:24pm. I told my girls, ”let's get packed right away and check out!” A housekeeper who looked to be about the age of my older daughter (maybe late 20's?) was at our door and said ”This is my last room, Y'ALL NEED TO GET OUT.” I tried to explain to her about the late check out. She angrily interrupted me, looking at her watch and said ”Late check out is 11:30. Y'all need to get out.” My two daughters (ages 17 and 28) and my granddaughter (18 months) and I all went into the room and hurriedly packed our stuff. It took 10 minutes. 5 minutes in, the same girl from housekeeping then started POUNDING on the door. My daughter opened the door long enough to say ”5 minutes.” As she closed the door, the housekeeping associate was saying a bunch of things about us to her co-workers. I was embarrassed. I was shook up. I felt nervous even leaving the room with the hostility that was coming from her. I was shaking when I got to the front desk. I told the person at the desk what happened. She apologized but didn't say much else. Someone else walked by and asked what was going on so I relayed the entire story all over again. Finally, as I was about to break down into tears, I said ”in all my time traveling, I've never been treated like this. We will never stay here again.” And we left.
Nice spacious, clean, cozy Suites Hotel. We were given Room 426, a very nice Suite with a full Kitchen that is fully stocked with all the appliances and plates/cups/bowls/pans and utensils already in place, full Refrigerator and large Microwave, and counter Table with Stools for sitting in the Kitchen area. A separate living room space with a door, and sleeper sofa. 2 TVs in the Suite. NO personal Safe in the Suite. The Bathroom Sink area is separated from the Toilet and Tub/Shower, the Bathroom Sink is with plenty of drawers to store your toiletries, and is next to a large closet space in the Bedroom area. However if you are sleeping and someone uses the Bathroom Sink there is no door to separate the Bathroom Sink area from the Bedroom area. The Beds are comfortable and the room is spacious with a Dresser Drawer. There is plenty of good onsite Complimentary Parking for Guests. There is NO SWIMMING POOL, but there is a nice outdoor small Patio Seating that has 2 cooking Grills for Guests to use. On some days the Hotel gives the Guests a complimentary light fare Dinner (Tacos and Beverages). The Complimentary Breakfast is very very minimal in items that it offers and is not well stacked, the Staff during our stay did not keep enough food out, and the Breakfast Service was poor and the attitude of the Breakfast Staff was not welcoming and caring, just doing their job, which might be to the fact that there was only one staff doing the Breakfast area, person may have been overwhelmed with the work. Otherwise the Hotel was a nice stop over.
Stayed at 3 Hamton Inns on a driving trip to Florida. This one did not live up to Hilton expecttaions. Starting with I never was offered my bottled water as a silver member. Then it got worse. We were notified last minute the pool was not in service. The water in the shower was at best tepid. Not hot. Wash cloths were see through. The breakfast with the exception of the oatmeal was terrible. Scrambled eggs with the texture of mashed potatos with no taste. Turkey sausage was like a brick. Out of orange juice, Didn't make a waffle so they might have been OK. Exhaust fan in shower didn't work. I expect more from Hilton. We stayed at 2 more Hamptons on the way and they were fine.
MMNsvenGreat stay! Great breakfast including waffles, eggs, breakfast meat and GOOD COFFEE! ☕️ A friendly and helpful staff that made us feel welcome and appreciated. The bed was very comfortable and we really appreciated the bath tub! The room had a lovely ambiance. We’d go there again!
MMia I”I recently stayed at the Super 8 by Wyndham Merrillville and had a fantastic experience! The hotel's convenient location made it easy to explore the surrounding area. The staff were friendly and welcoming, ensuring a smooth check-in process. My room was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, with a cozy bed and modern amenities.
VVictorThe AC was horrible. The whole night it only blew humid room temperature air. The room had a weird smell. Calling the front desk was useless, they never answered.
TToni MHad a great time here antionett was amazing she was nice and helped me though the entire process recommended her to anyone she’s there weekdays only so make sure to book weekdays the place is right above mu budget and it’s tidy and clean definitely going again
Great room at a great price! We came to Merrillville for a hockey tournament and found this as the most reasonable place for us to stay. The location is great, lots of places within walking distance to go eat and shop. The staff at the desk welcomed us and really engaged with our kids when they saw our hockey equipment. They even let them show off a few moves! The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Couldn’t have been happier with our stay!
