We absolutely love staying at The Forester when we are visiting friends and family in the north suburbs of Chicago. The service level is impeccable throughout the entire hotel, the rooms are super clean, the food is incredible (you never need to leave the hotel to find good food!), and the gym is even a ”real gym” with lots of machines and weights. They say that this is a ”Hyatt Place” hotel, but it is 100x better than any Hyatt Place I have ever stayed in, and I've stayed in a lot. Also, when booking with points, this is probably one of the best redemptions in the U.S. for any Hyatt hotel, period.

CCOTraveller33Stayed here 3 nights on a visit to Lovell FHCC (15 minutes down the road). Nice Hampton Inn. Friendly staff, decent breakfast. Standard all around. Positives. Nice warm breakfast. Very friendly staff. Close to restaurants & Lovell FHCC. Bed was excellent, and warm. Pillows were ok. Thermostat - yes! in a Chicago snow storm this was key. Fridge - nice to have for sure. Negatives -y The lamp on the desk was odd. The lampshade was huge, and it wasn't adjustable - so basically was in the way. the shower is rather narrow, and you have to be sure to have both doors closed when starting it -- or the floor gets soaked. Towels - cheap hotel ones. Toilet paper - like boot camp sandpaper There isn't a lot to eat nearby, so head into downtown Libertyville - Mickey Finn's is a great spot for one. Would recommend: Yes Would re-patronize: Possible

GGuest UserNice renovated hotel, close to I-94 , O’Hare airport and Six Flags Great America. The hotel has a big empty lot for parking with tractor trailers, motorhomes and other large vehicles. Despite the highway closeness, the hotel is very quiet. Nice and clean rooms, good sized bathroom with tub. The room has a small fridge and a microwave oven.

Ssummer hinrichsStayed here for my son's bootcamp graduation. Had no issues with anything everyone here was very friendly. It's close to base and other amenities. It is in a buisness park so it was away from the craziness. Would definitely stay here again if I ever have to travel back to this area.

This hotel is clean, roomy and comfortable , and the front desk was professional, especially Mr. Habram, he’s very polite and friendly. They provided free coffee every morning, although it’s free, but the quality is still good. Definitely will come back to this hotel!

The hotel is nice and my staff experience was phenomenal. Front and breakfast staff. My issue with this place is the smell of cigarettes throughout one particular floor even in the room. Also the air conditioner unit is very very loud. So loud you can't sleep. The water in the room was very dirty and no hot water. We had to move our room and was told it was the entire side of the building concerning the hot water. Which was wayyyyyy on the other side of the building. We also had housekeeping repeatedly try to enter our room on check out day. The do not disturb placard was on the door. Check out time was 12 this happened twice before 9am.

Jjkshafer1Hotel This hotel started out very well other than the room smelled like stale smoke. We were going to Six Flags and got into town much earlier than expected and they allow us to check in early which I thought was great because we were going to have a long day at the park and then we could go straight to the room and go to bed. Nice thought but not quite how it went. We got back to the hotel about 10 PM and our key was not working. We went to the front desk she gave us a new key, which also did not work. The front desk worker went up to our room with another key, and she tried to open it with no luck; she then went down and called her boss while we sat in the waiting area with our two kids (teenage boys 12/13). After about 20 minutes I checked in and were told she was calling maintenance; I asked if they could give us another room so the boys could at least lay down and maybe watch some TV which she was able to do and gave us a room super close to our original room. I waited about 30 minutes and went down to see the status. I was told she called maintenance and was waiting to hear back, but her boss said worst case scenario maintenance would be in early the next morning. I told her we had medication that was needed in that room. She called her boss back who said they needed to wait an hour from that point to hear from maintenance and if they didn’t respond, they would call the fire department to get the door open. At this point we have been dealing with this for close to an hour already and I mentioned that so she said she would wait 15 minutes. Another employee showed up about 20 minutes later (thinking possibly the manager) and he told me the fire department was on the way and they arrived about 10 minutes later. The fire department did an amazing job and got into the room in about 20 minutes. I know this was a very unfortunate event that probably rarely happens; my issue was the initial response of telling me we would need to wait until morning when all our belongings were in the room then telling me we had to wait another hour before they called the fire department. A bad situation that was handled badly. I do feel bad for the young girl that was working the front desk as I think she was working alone and could only do so much. Overall the staff was friendly but management response was lacking to say the least. Both rooms also smelled of stale smoke but to be honest that was less of an issue after dealing with the issue of getting into our room. All this and we still paid full price for our room.

MMeg GI gave it one star because no stars was not an option. Our soccer team had to stay at this hotel (they have a list of required hotels to choose from). I love reviews to boost good business but there is a time and a place for a bad review and this is it. This hotel is not safe. Just our team alone dealt with a tv that didn't work, toilet that didn't work, key cards that continually were deactivated, mold, black fly infestation, it was crazy. I hadn't slept in a full sized bed for about 25 years and shared it too. Not ideal. The entire hotel smells like a nursing home. Our teammates on the 4th floor had the mold and flies. Turns out the 4th floor hadn't been used in a long time and had just been opened up for use. Lucky them. There was ONE elevator for the entire hotel, the other was out of order (and behind on inspection). The front desk girls were not friendly at all, first impressions matter and it wasn't good. The doors to the stairwells were SO hard to open. Kind of scary to think of a kid trying to get out in an emergency, they wouldn't be able to open them because even us adults had a hard time. The poor maintenance man had his hands full here. On the bright side, we had coupons for the breakfast (do not pay for it) and the man and woman doing the food and beverages every morning were so kind and helpful. Keep your health, family and money safe, do not stay here.
