My Fiancee and I stayed 2 nights at the Ayres Laguna Woods 8/26-8/28 room 123. Housekeeping is frequently The floors were absolutely filthy! Unfortunately, we neglected to pack our slippers. I have attached photos of our feet 30 min after showering and walking around only inside the room. In addition, a photo of a washcloth with only a small amount of water dampening the cloth. The floors had obviously not been mopped in a very LONG TIME. In addition, the Mattress was broken down, the box springs squeeked loudly at the slightest movement. I must state that it was difficult for me to write this review as I have worked in the Hospitality and more specifically the Hotel/Resort industry for many years. Even more specifically I have worked within and lead the Rooms Divisions of multiple Hotel Brands and Regions. I always over look the small stuff as Housekeeping can be a thankless and under appreciated element of a Guests stay. I attempted to speak with a Manager upon our departure Sunday morning but was informed that no Manager was available for me to speak with. I typically don't write reviews, particularly negative one's but in this case I had to make an exception and can not in good faith recommend this Hotel.
We enjoyed our stay at the Laguna Hills Lodge. The property has an excellent location for visiting South Orange County and the freeway exit is conveniently located a couple of blocks from the hotel. The area has a lot of budget friendly eating options within walking distance of the Lodge, we are particularly fond of Tacos de Birria Los Carnales! The front desk staff provided excellent service and we really liked being able to check our bags for several hours after we checked out. Our room had comfortable beds and all the amenities including a complimentary breakfast. The price we paid (several months in advance) was very reasonable for the Southern California location, and we were just 15 minutes from the SNA John Wayne airport.
As about me, I was perfectly happy with this hotel. My room had a balcony and I enjoyed sleeping with open doors and fresh air. It was great. Noise from the highway was constant. But, with the closed doors, you will be fine. I did not use any other of their services, cannot comment on those. But, sleep was great. Thank you very much!

This place was clean. This place was accommodating. The free breakfast was probably our favourite part. It was delicious. I have nothing but good things to say about this place aside from not getting our room cleaned when we went on a family outing. We were gone all day and hoped we’d have clean towels and our beds made when we returned. But this place is quiet and felt safe. I’d definitely stay here again.
Do not stay here. Where do I start...oh yea, from the beginning. They advertise a restaurant in the hotel so getting in around 8pm, we figured this would be the best place to go just to save time. They're supposed to open until 10pm but when we arrived, it was closed. Apparently, the cook didn't show up that night so they had no choice...it was never open while we were there. Then needed ice...walked around the hotel to all 3 ice makers...all broken. Woke up in the morning, was going to make coffee in the room...the K cups were there but NO COFFEE MACHINE! Had to go to the front desk and they had one sent up. Got it all set up, looked through the K cups, no regular coffee. Back to the front desk to find regular K cup but they were out. He eventually found some but too late, we were gone for the day. Now the room...pillows sucked, they were just way too thin, as in thin like a sleeping on a blanket. The bathroom door wouldn't latch so we were unable to lock the door when using the bathroom. But the worst part of that frickin bathroom door was it squeaked! If anyone got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, everyone in the room woke up because of the noise. The one bright spot was their breakfast and their breakfast attendant Joe. He was very friendly and pleasant to talk to.
Very new hotel. I saw it was owned by Hilton and it was a family hotel, with many tourists with children. The room facilities were very new and clean. There was an open kitchenette in the room, which could boil water and had a large refrigerator. The bed was also quite comfortable, king size. The soundproofing was especially good. Our room was on the side of the highway, but we couldn't hear the noise of cars outside. The breakfast buffet was also good. Although there were not many types, they were all delicious, and they were all pure Western breakfasts. We arrived at the hotel in the early morning, and there was only one person at the front desk. Check-in was fast, but there were few front desk staff, so we had to carry our luggage upstairs by ourselves. The hotel also has a parking lot. The overall check-in situation was good, and the price-performance ratio was high. Recommended!
#positive #I was happy with the Bed Comfort Level, Safety, Value for Money, Nearby Restaurants, Toiletries; I stayed in this hotel for two nights and it was very good! The room layout is reasonable and the facilities are complete; the staff service attitude is very good; especially the buffet breakfast has a rich variety. The only regret is that the Wi-Fi in the room is basically unavailable.
I chose this property based on the location being convenient to places I need to go but I would not stay here again. The property is next to the freeway and busy roads. Each room comes with a small veranda but they're useless since it's too noisy to sit outside. I think only a few inner rooms facing the pool might be shielded from the road noise. I was first given a room that smelled like ashtray (despite the fact that I specifically requested a room that didn't have smoke odor when I made the reservation), next to a busy road and very loud automatic drive thru car wash. Bed was old and extremely soft and AC from adjacent rooms and road noises kept me up all night. I switched to a 'quieter' room from the second night which had a much better bed and did not have an odor but it was next to a busy road and closer to the freeway. Road noises, as well as the loud AC unit prevented me from getting good sleep. Breakfast was limited - scrambled eggs were very dry and had the texture of cardboard and coffee was so bad I ended up going to a local coffee shop every morning. Overall the rooms were clean and the staff friendly but slept poorly the entire stay. I expected a little more from this property given the rates I was charged but what I got was only slightly better than motel 6
