We stayed at this Marriot location because it was part of a wedding recommended spot. I chose it because of the 'heated' indoor pool. I swim every day. The first day I swam, after an hour I never warmed up and my fingers were numb when I finally gave up and got out. We said something to the front desk staff and they said they would talk to the maintenance staff. The second morning it was not as cold, but not by much. I spoke with the maintenance man and he told me that the pool could only be heated to 82* or there would be issues with bacteria in the water. This is absolutely ridiculous! I swim at EOS gyms in Tampa, where there are water aerobic classes and the pool temp is routinely above 86 -88*, our backyard pool is 89 - 90* this time of year and we have NO BACTERIAL ISSUES! If you're going to promote your hotel as having an indoor HEATED pool, 82* is not warm enough for anyone other than a serious swimmer - who would need a much longer length pool than the one at this location - to be able to generate enough heat to stay warm! The last night we were there, I rode up with a woman and her son who had been in the pool and she told me it was freezing! Do you want to just have the pool as a booking point, or do you actually want your guests to be able to use it and enjoy it? I will be very hesitant in the future to book a stay at a Marriott based on this experience, because I rely on my swims for my daily workout, happiness and sanity. I dreaded swimming in this location during my stay, it was neither pleasant nor inviting.
I took my granddaughters here for a much-needed night of rest, relaxation and fun. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean, felt very safe, was quiet... lots of small touches like giving us each a bag with water and chips when we came in. The beds were very comfortable. There was a nice indoor pool. There was a very nice breakfast included - tons of choices! Really, really nice stay. I will definitely go back.

We traveled to PA for USA Hockey National tournament. This was one of the best hotels we have stayed at. It was very clean and the staff with above and beyond to help us enjoy our stay. They provided board games in the front for us to play in the lobby, always had fresh cookies, didn’t get upset with the us hanging in the lobby socializing, and even held a drawing contest (mostly for the siblings) and gave out prizes!

This hotel offers nice amenities at a very reasonable price. The hot breakfast is fullsome, and rotates the meat selection daily. The breakfast room will soon be remodeled offering more space and allowing the lobby to expand its footprint. The newly remodeled rooms have nice tile flooring - omitting microbe-catching carpet. The Wingate still offers 24 hr. cancellation, which is very helpful when traveling daily.
Very clean hotel. Good water pressure in the shower the room upgrade will get you a lot of space - it’s worth it! The bathrooms are large. The AC worked well in our room and the shower head was high (for tall people). Elevators moved quickly. The staircases were clean and well lit and easy to access too. Parking is easy. Pool is indoors but there’s a great fire pit outside.
Front desk clerk was clearly out of her depth with the hotel’s booking computer. Check in time took much longer than it should have.

SSuziewriteBack for another great visit at the Red Roof in Greensburg. I was here a couple of months ago, and meant to review it then, but it just slipped through the cracks. I loved my stay then, and absolutely no disappointments on my second go round. It is clean, clean, clean! The beds are comfy, and because it is up on the hill off Route 30, it is quiet, The front desk staff are uniformly terrific; Stefanie when I was here in October, and Alyssa on this visit are super friendly, and very good at their job. The rooms are a little on the small side, but they have everything you need for a terrific day, and the price is certainly very tasty (especially with no pet fee). Just a note: I travel a lot, 20+ weekends a year— 100+ nights at hotels. It’s a Red Roof, not a four-star property, but it’s a genuine winner… and one of the RRs I have stayed in. NOTE: This hotel has absolutely the best in room refrigerators I’ve had at a non-suite hotel. It is a good size small refrigerator that has a separate freezer…not a little dinky space inside the refrigerator.
