The location is unique, and it can be easily reached on foot from the station. Breakfast is also good, this is the third stay and I will choose here again. It is reminded that the name of the hotel changed to: Capitol Hotel
We have been going to the Residence Inn in Hartford for more than a decade. Up until now, we have found the hotel to be a perfect place for a night or two. While the Marriott staff was friendly and welcoming, our stay this past weekend was disappointing due to the condition of the room. From cracks in the bathroom tiles, to worn out carpet and furniture, chips and scrapes most everywhere including a two-inch hole in one wall and a popped-up ceiling tile with a cut wire tangling down near the shower head, what used to be a newly renovated landmark hotel in 2014, has become saddle sore, weary and scruffy. Even the pamphlet for the Marriott Bonvoy Card was a sign of neglect. It is really a shame since most of what we noted are cosmetic issues. With nightly rates getting near $400.00 a night, there is no value left in staying in this old shoe. We hope that an overdue renovation is the works. In the meantime, we will look elsewhere when we head for Hartford.
The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly, the location is good, surrounded by delicious restaurants, epidemic control measures are good, early breakfast is delicious, there are menus to order, very close to Connecticut Science Museum and Bushnell Park, nearby bus system is developed, you can go directly to Westfarms Shopping! Good choice for business and leisure travel!

So marketing pictures when booking through apps like hotels or Expedia are beautiful but reality is, we did not find the value expected at this Hilton location. Scum on the shower walls, hair on top of the tub, stains on the carpet... Would be forgivable if this was a $99 a night 2 star but at over $300, we expected a much higher level of cleanliness. Front desk check in was frustrating and time consuming as well. My artist name didn't match the official state license ID. Yes my error, but could have been handled with more support than ”unable to check you in” and not even an apology for inconvenience... We won't be using this branch of Hilton anytime soon....
Our experience with this location was great from start to finish. We were there for The Great American Stamp Show in the connected Convention Center. Not only was our group large, but there were two different wedding parties when we were there, and a couple of other rather large events. The room was very comfortable and clean. We asked for extra coffee packets on day two and were happily presented with enough for the rest of our 4-day stay. We only had our room cleaned once, as there were plenty of towels, etc. and I have a ”thing” for making the bed when we get out. The front desk crew was amazing...always cheerful and ready to help with anything, as were the bartenders and servers in the cafe. Kudos to all. Plus, the hotel is in easy walking distance of the amazing Wadsworth Museum, The Connecticut Science Center and several very good restaurants.
The hotel is an InterContinental brand. It doesn't feel like a 17-year-old new building, it may be a renovation. The hotel is close to the highway. The double rooms are on the highway side. If you are afraid of noise, you can book a twin room. The service was really not good. A Mexican woman at the front desk answered everything first. Sorry, this is not possible. It is very blunt. At 11 noon, he came to knock on the door to urge check out.
Some pros and cons Spacious Room (stayed in a double queen suite with pull out couch). Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Overall, facility and room was very clean. Good value for the cost. The facility felt safe. Security went through the parking lot slowly down each row at night (twice that I saw.) However, the pool was disgusting. The water was foggy to the point you couldn't see the bottom step. There were several chunks of hair floating in the pool and a straw. (Big bummer since we traveled with kids to a place specifically with a pool.) The room itself was big but had a stuffy, mildew smell. Since none of the windows open there was no way to air it out. The odor was strong enough to wake me up a few times in the middle of the night. The view of the parking lot and dumpster leave something to be desired but it your just looking for a place to rest, no biggie. The rooms with odd numbers have a view of a pretty building.
the room was overall clean, but we didn’t sleep on the sheets because of previous reviews. bathroom was clean and AC worked. Hotel itself smelled weird and there was bulletproof glass at the front desk. the area was very sketchy, try not to be outside of the room at night. people outside trying to sell *****. Some guy even came up to the car window. hotel staff was very nice though.

I booked through Priceline and the troubles were never ending. The room doesn't have the air conditioning on and the refrigerator in the room is unplugged. The wifi doesn't work, no matter how much I tried I had to use my phone as a hotspot as I couldn't even check email. They say free wifi but they mean no actual internet access. There are many holes and threadbare sections of the blankets, sheets, and pillowcases. Many pictures. The mattresses are over 20 years old and they feel terrible. Most hotels don't keep mattresses half this long, and no reputable establishment, even a budget one, would keep them this long. The toilet leaks polluted water from the basin and when you flush it, this is not potable water from the supply lines but instead from human waste infused water. Children living in the subsidized housing behind the motel fire off fireworks (not in July). They also have loud music playing and all sorts of unsupervised activity of young children well into 11PM at night. The grounds have trash throughout the walkways, I found used condoms and hypodermic needles on the premises. Pictures are provided for some of this. The AC smells like mildew and cigarette smoke, even in a non-smoking room. The smell sticks on you and your clothing so when you leave this motel you still wreak of it. My feet turned black walking on the floor (even after housekeeping came through), and later my socks turned black. You don't want to know what bodily fluid stains I found when I took out my black light on first check in. This entire motel runs on a philosophy that there is no corner they will not cut to save some money. Everything I have reported above shows lack of proper maintenance, leaving deteriorated materials that need replacement in place instead of repairing them. I interacted with the management/owners on a limited basis and they have the mindset the customer is an inconvenience and anything they promised is negotiable as long as they can save money by not actually providing it. Don't stay here, even if they offer you an hourly rate. If you insist on staying here then 1) bring your own linens and mattress; 2) wear boots at all times, even in the shower to avoid the dirty floors and the leaking toilet water; 3) try not to breath the air as it smells of mildew and cigarettes; 4) don't expect any of the included items - anything you get is a stroke of luck.

The Mark Twain House & Museum
Eelsashen0529After breakfast today, drive to the former residence of Mark Twain, the capital of Hartford, Connedict. Mark Twain is a famous late 19th century writer in the United States. He lives here with his family and completes one of his most famous works, The Adventures of Tom Soria. It is still a little excited to see your self-love works displayed in the window in the writer's house today. This house was named one of the world's most historic houses in 2012. Very interesting, highly recommended!
Connecticut Convention Center
NNew_York_GossipThe Connecticut Convention Center is a relatively large convention center where many exhibitions, conferences, performances, etc. are held. It is close to the Connecticut River and has a nice view. The exterior is quite stylish and the interior also feels good.
Connecticut State Capitol
SsculptorThe Connecticut State Capitol is located in Hartford, the capital of eastern Connecticut. The building is home to the Connecticut Senate, House of Representatives and the Governor's Office. It was built in 1871 and completed in 1878.
Connecticut Science Center
野野枫印象Hartford University is in Hartford, Connecticut. The campus is very beautiful and the campus building is also very beautiful. Hartford University has many colleges in art, engineering and other fields. In recent years, the number of international students has also been increasing. Some majors are also very distinctive.
Bushnell Park
乐乐天的静The park itself is beautiful and I really love the area in the fountain center. The park is close to the national capital landmark building and it is a really beautiful sight. I attended a community event there and something happened in this park throughout the year. If you want to get rid of urban life and be surrounded by nature, the park is such a good place.
Riverside Park
达达达和妮妮I especially like this park. My friends live nearby and go for a walk after dinner. It is especially freehand to stroll around.
