My stay at the Glen Ellen Inn was invigorating and reviving and much needed after a very hard week at work. I won't go into the work details, but the Glen Ellen Inn was the perfect respite. The room was beautiful, well decorated and cozy (in a large warm, comfy, relaxing kind of way), and clean. You could tell such great love was put into the little details to give us a heart felt experience. Our room overlooked Sonoma Creek and a cute little stone bridge. We had a beautiful private garden that allowed us some time in nature and we were able to enjoy a glass of wine and reflect on our day out. We also had a beautiful in room spa that comforted us after our long cold morning of Zip Lining at Sonoma Zip lining Adventures (amazing experience ask for Brady and Kirsten they were awesome). The bed and pillows welcomed us and we slept so peacefully. The inn is perfectly situated in the town of Glen Ellen, a place I'd never heard of and honestly thought would not be the highlight of our visit given Sonoma is minutes away, but it was a place that dazzled us in so many ways and we ended up spending most of our time there. Home to Jack London, we visited a few amazing places including the Jack London Saloon and Lodge, the Michelin star restaurant called the Glen Ellen Star (It was literally next door to the Glen Ellen Inn), Garden Court Cafe, Sonoma Zip-lining Adventures (about 50 minutes away), Yeti Restaurant (Indian Food), Les Pascals Patisserie and Boulangerie, Tips Roadside for brunch (Kenwood), Walt wine tasting room (Sonoma Plaza, partner to Hall winery in St. Helena), Sonoma Mission, Harvey's Donut Bar (Sonoma Plaza), Prohibition Spirits Distillery (Sonoma Plaza), and Murthy's Irish Pub (Sonoma Plaza)....because you have to visit an Irish Pub wherever you go;). I honestly couldn't thank Karen and Chris more and I am looking forward to coming back and enjoying their cottages and Bar once it reopens. Karen and Chris, thank you so much for the stay and for the thoughtful touches and recommendations. Hope to see you again soon.

This is a cute place in a charming location, but it needs some considerable revamping to bring it up to snuff. Rooms are very dated and rather spartan (e.g., no rug, no desk or table to work from or eat at, tiny wall-mounted TV, cheap toiletries, etc.). Walls, doors and baseboards were pretty scuffed up, and floors and bathroom didn’t feel nearly as clean as they should have. The window blind didn’t close all the way and didn’t feel entirely private (note: no blackout drapes here… bring a sleep mask if you’re bothered by light). Staff was friendly and there’s a cool old tavern on the property that’s very popular with the locals. There’s also a pool (unheated during my stay) and jacuzzi that looked well-tended to. There’s an upscale, surprisingly large market across the street, as well as a patisserie and a couple of excellent restaurants nearby. The place has some nice things going for it, and I would happily return if they’d just upgrade the rooms.
Very sad and disappointed. My wife and I were married at the Kenwood and wanted to return for our 10th anniversary last week as a very romantic memoir and reprise of the magical occasion it was then. Unfortunately it was not to be. The inn is nothing like it was in its heyday, especially the service and present management. When I booked the room directly with the hotel I informed them it was our anniversary and wanted it to be special. I was told we would have a room on the second floor overlooking a pool. We were led up three flights of stairs (very dark at night) to a very remote room at the back of the inn with a view of a rooftop and a parking lot. As we are both elderly we asked to be given another choice of a room but were informed that only the ADA room with no rugs or carpet was left. The staff seemed very young and had a ”take it or leave it” attitude, from the front desk to the day manager on call. We asked for a call from the corporate manager to see if they could offer another solution. We were left a voice mail from corporate but not until the next day after we checked out, very disappointed that we would not be there on our anniversary and forced to find last minute lodging elsewhere. To date we have tried to contact the corporate manager Travis three times and have not had a call back. We are very disappointed that the Inn is now run by a corporate culture that does not value the requisite customer service of a luxury hotel.

Loved the Fairmont spa experience! Rodney, my massage therapist, was amazing and my swollen legs feel so much better. The pools are therapeutic and the facilities are impressive. I’m a little disappointed in the room because there’s no patio like other rooms next to it, but that’s a small issue. I selected a standard room, but I watched videos of really luxe rooms on social media. Staff is friendly and I’m enjoying my stay. The food is delicious.
Easily our favorite stay ever at a B&B! The rooms are lovely, but what we really enjoyed was the food and the hospitality of the staff, particularly Karen. We stayed for two nights, and the two breakfasts were delicious and varied - very fresh fruit, homemade pastries (warm cheese danish one day, blueberry/lemon coffee cake the next day), eggs any style with ham/potatoes, then creme brulee french toast that was amazing, with bacon & eggs. We had no lunch either day due to the quantity and quality of the breakfast. Karen also catered to other guests with gluten issues, making a custom breakfast (that she had us taste) that was outstanding! In addition, the staff hosted a wine and cheese (but really much more than cheese, fruit/pastry/dips) early evening reception. This was also delicious and we enjoyed meeting the other guests and getting to know Karen & Larry. As long as the staff stays the same, we would never stay anywhere else in Sonoma! As an added bonus, we were provided a wine passport, that provided 2 for 1 wine tastings at over 25 wineries.
