Find the Cheap Friendship Village Hotels

This hotel was really a pleasant surprise after reading some of the less-than-glowing recent reviews. We stayed there years ago and it was just okay. But the criticisms must have hit home because the room was clean (and spacious enough not to feel cramped), it was quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the hotel staff was among the friendliest, most responsive and most helpful I've run into (I've stayed in my share of hotels and I put a premium on the service end of things). If you compare the price to other hotels in the DC area, even taking into account the Courtyard's nightly parking fee ($18/night) , it is a bargain. They have plenty of parking with both an outdoor lot and a large (and well lit) basement garage. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the Friendship Heights Metro station (the Metro trip from there to downtown took only 22 minutes )and there are a number of good eateries and shopping locations within easy walking distance. Chevy Chase is a very nice town too for those of you who are not familiar with the area. We were there over Easter weekend and this place blew away anything comparable that I looked at elsewhere in DC when it came to price. I've stayed in a few of the higher end hotels downtown (mostly near the Capitol) and paid 2 to 3 times as much for rooms that were smaller and in hotels that had the same or fewer amenities. And the biggest surprise was that the food at their restaurant was pretty good. Most hotels in this price range do not have stellar food and I usually avoid the food. But we arrived late, were tired and thus gave it a shot. We got a good burger and a nice Caesar salad. If you don't want to pay the arm and a leg that you'll pay to be downtown or even in other areas in or near DC, but still be close enough to see or do anything you would do from a downtown hotel, then this is your place. We would definitely stay here again.

To be honest, this staying experience is not good. I have booked N hotels in Ctrip and never had any problems. The problems encountered this time are very speechless. Because I had two children, I booked a twin room on Ctrip. At the front desk of the hotel, they told me that when Ctrip booked with the hotel, they indicated it was a double room! I gave the Ctrip order to the front desk, but they said that Ctrip must specify the bed when booking. I contacted Ctrip customer service, what is more speechless is that Ctrip customer service actually said that the double bed double bed in Ctrip refers to the double bed! !! I've lived in the United States for 25 years, and this is the first time I've heard an explanation like this ... well, Ctrip, you're awesome! In the end, because the hotel did not have spare twin rooms, it would only take 5 days ... A company that refuses to admit its mistakes. I don't know what the future holds ...

The service was fabulous. I don’t believe we have ever met a kinder hotel staff. Robert and Elijah were a joy to work with as valets. As artists we have a full size van and they were gracious to park it in a special area of the garage. Robert also made many trips to our van for us. His attitude is amazing. We felt welcome and well cared for. We will always stay at the Residence Inn when we are in Bethesda. Thank you. Oh, and the room was great too.

The location is still very close to the subway station.

Nice hotel, modern, new and comfortable room. Good bed, shower and black out for windows. The restaurant dinner was good, breakfast was bad, I skipped the other day. $30,00/day for parking downsizing. However there’s a public parking in front of the hotel. Sunday is free weekdays from 10pm to 7 pm too! Overall excellent experience.

My husband and I arranged for a room block for many of our guests to stay at this hotel for our wedding. Leading up to the wedding and during the wedding weekend, the staff were very communicative and hospitable - helping us keep track of which guests were staying there, the distribution of welcome bags, and coordinating transportation to and from our wedding. Our guests had a great stay at the hotel and really appreciated the reasonable price and proximity to many restaurants and shops in Bethesda.

We found our room to be very clean and comfortable. The air conditioner worked great. The shower had good pressure but it did take a while for the water to warm up. The hotel is located in a comfortable neighborhood and an easy walk to the Metro subway. We found several restaurants nearby with various choices of food. Overall we felt that we got a pretty nice room for the price.

5 people stayed here for 5 nights. Clean and comfortable. Washer and dryer in unit which is was very helpful/ We only had 5 sets of towels so we had to do laundry every day. The beds were comfortable. Nice to have a full kitchen. The shower curtain in the master bedroom was moldy or stained. This needs to be replaced. Check in was good. We received a tour of the building and he explained everything to us, including places to eat in the area and grocery stores close by: coffee, hot cocoa and tea available in the lobby all the time. Nice touch . We would recommend to family and friends.

Located on the Wisconsin road, the traffic is quite convenient and the hotel has its own car park, but parking is subject to a charge. Check in at night is very quiet, across the road is a residential area, are a house, greening is very good. One kilometer away is the subway station, the hotel has a shuttle to the subway station, in fact, the walk is also very fast. There is a supermarket around 50 meters, you can buy fresh fruit bread cakes, cheese varieties are very diverse and impressive. The staff is very nice and will be given a hot muffin at check-in.
