Nice overall. If I was using a realistic scale overall I would give it a 7 or 8 out of ten. There was were pieces of ceiling tile on the floor in hallway when we awoke that had not been there the previous night There was a fan in the hallway at the far end and apparently the carpet had gotten wet and smelled moldy. Other than that the staff were nice and the bed was comfortable.

Whenever I am in the Knoxville area no matter what part of Knoxville I'm in this is the only hotel I will stay at. It's up to date comfortable and I feel safe staying here. Their beds are amazing. I was supposed to check out Sunday but extended my stay to Monday so I could sleep all day Sunday then when I woke up Sunday at 6pm so I took an Ambien and slept the rest of the night. 😅😅😅 Also I used to work at this hotel for 3 years in the 90s so maybe that's why I like it so much. Breakfast could have been better but that's a result of the lame covid restrictions and rules so I'm not going to hold it against the hotel. Can't wait to be back.
I think the hotel has aged very well. I asked my counterpart traveling with me and he thought - ehhh - it's a Fairfield. But I think it's still nice - even years later. Sure, wallpaper is falling off, walls are marked - but just the color palate is happy and it's very clean. And unlike what seems like the rest of the Fairfields, their breakfast is back to normal. Two issues - one - road noise - need to remember to ask (at any Knoxville hotel) to not face the freeway. Usually my status automatically gets that. Two - a car alarm went off for like 15 mins - but not sure what they could do to stop that - but then with the road noise I couldn't sleep. It's a winner of a hotel for sure.

Under normal conditions this hotel would be too expensive for an expense report. But since services, like the hot breakfast buffet had to be cut back due to Covid-19 restrictions, this hotel adjusted the nightly charge. So I got a studio apartment with a fully equipped kitchen for a week. Loved the staff. Very professional as well as generous. Within walking distance to Walmart and restaurants.
I usually don’t review hotels that I don’t stay at, but for this one, I must. Someone hacked into my Choice Hotels account and used my points to stay here. Easy fix, right? Wrong! Rather than verifying who was checking in, you let someone check in under my name and info and my points were used. How stupid can you be? Almost every hotel I’ve stayed in checks ID and credit cards to make sure they’re not giving the room to the wrong person. Every hotel but this one. But then again…. they’re a Choice hotel, so I expect this kind of incompetence. If you want to make sure someone doesn’t check into a room pretending to be you, book a Hampton or a Best Western. Two much better hotels that protect your privacy. I wouldn’t ever stay here myself… but I’m so glad someone who used my information had a nice stay. Really pathetic way to run a hotel
