The hotel is in an excellent location. Because it is a hard rock, the price is much higher than that of surrounding hotels. I happened to stay on the weekend, and the price of a double bed balcony room with taxes and resort fees was nearly 4,000 per night. The best thing is that the beautiful scenery is unparalleled. When you open the window, you can see the vast Atlantic Ocean. When you open the curtains, you are facing the sunrise. Especially in August, the sunrise in Orlando does not rise until 7 o'clock. There is no need to get up early. It’s extremely relaxing to watch the sunrise while stretching!
We ended up at the Daytona Grande after the Hilton Oceanfront overbooked and we were on our way with no place to stay! Admittedly not the safest, but I had to book this place while driving from the Orlando airport and just looking for something that wasn’t a total dive but still decently priced without a ton of extra fees. No free breakfast here which is something I especially appreciate as a family of 6, but in this case it was just me and my teenage son in town for an archery championship. After the highly stressful day of travel we had, the Grande was like a little slice of Heaven! It was clean, quiet, and beautiful. We decided after having to skip lunch with flight delays and all that, we just wanted a good meal and a good bed and we got exactly that. My son and I split truffle fries to start, the crusted crab filet, and beignets for dessert. All were wonderful (and we’re from Dallas where there is no shortage of excellent food) and enjoyed Oceanside on the dimly lit quiet patio. My only criticism is that the tables should be turned perpendicularly to the ocean and hotel so that everyone at the table gets a view of both rather than one facing a wall while the other faces the ocean.
Rooms were nicely decorated, had comfortable, intuitive lighting, handy USB plugs, and most importantly REALLY COMFORTABLE BEDS! We have a Tempurpedic at home so my sleep is usually pretty abysmal at hotels. Now, this wasn’t as comfy as home, but I slept hard and woke without being sore since the bed was genuinely comfortable.
My only complaints about the room were that the window sheers, while stylish, really gave no privacy at all, so if you wanted privacy you had to sacrifice light. Water pressure wasn’t great and the bathroom needed more towel bars and hooks. This would’ve been way more of a nuisance with the whole family, but they also came midday and restocked towels and made up the beds, which we see less and less of these days, even at nice hotels in the name of being “green”. But it was spacious and clean and otherwise nicely equipped.
Elevators were fast and never held us up. Beach access from the elevator was nice as we didn’t have to walk through the lobby in swimsuits. Parking was slightly inconvenient being caddy corner across the street, but not bad at all. We considered but didn’t try room service mainly due to price and unknown wait (when we had tournament times to consider) but the little shop/cafe in the lobby was great and convenient and priced about as you’d expect (pricey, but not too ridiculous). We got coffee and breakfast sandwiches both days.
I think the biggest issue with this place is the visibility. It’s tall to be sure so you’re not going to miss it, but the entrance and signage is on the far side and behind a little aqua building (I think called Sand Dunes) which had to be apartments or a teeny hotel that I can only assume refused to sell to the Grande in development so the Grande built around it. It keeps it from having the opulent entrance that the Hilton does

JJiasenlinBreakfast did not have to be eaten, it was all ice, 🥚 glass shell, put at least four days of taste, the room noise is serious, the sound insulation is very poor, the room is separated by a door.
KKathy KondrathI only had a 1 night stay but I was extremely pleased with the entire experience. The room was spotless, the bed extremely comfortable, the staff helpful & courteous and the noise level was peaceful. I will be booking there again.
GGuest UserVery pleased with cleanliness, most of staff was very friendly the breakfast staff were super nice there was one who worked the desk at night who clearly did not want to be there and had a poor atitude, breakfast was okay wish they had a little more to offer but it was enough to get you going for the day, pool are met my needs but there were not readily available pool towels without having to ask, location was good not to much traffic right by both daytona speedway and the airport and a short 13 minutes or so from daytona beach was also nice that there was a mall across the street although I did not get to visit during my stay. I enjoyed the stay enough to book an additional day.
SStevenThe higher floor was great. The view is beautiful patio was comfortable. The room was very quiet even though it was near the elevator there was no problem at all. The beds were comfortable the pillows were very soft but not my style however they were great the Jacuzzi has no jets working. Justin at the front desk said That since the water was hot it was half working. I overall had a great time and I would stay here again it’s right on the beach and it has a good pool a nice Children swim area separate from the pool with the fence and the parking was free. All the staff were very nice overall
郭郭Hotel location is very good, there is free breakfast and coffee, good value for money, a street is a hotel, live in the upper floors can see the scenery, the swimming pool is also good, next to the place where there is a foot
RRUII can see the sunrise in bed and it feels very good. This is the best hotel I think is the best near Daytona Beach. The ocean walk next to it is not bad. If you need to cook, choose an ocean walk. If you don't need to cook, choose Hilton.
GGuest UserLocation was perfect for what we needed. The pool was nice and access to the beach was perfect. The staff was less than inviting and some were just rude. The rooms were good sized but HOT. Needed to buy a fan to sleep. The AC units do not work as they should. The fan in the bathroom does not do it’s job. Had to shower with the door open to breath. The doors do not seal thus allowing even more hot air into an already hot room. If my room had not been prepaid I would of left after the first night. We were miserable trying to sleep. This LqQuinta does NOT live up to the many I have stayed in over the years. Very Disappointed!
GGuest UserPictures looked great, but was far off in person. Pool was empty and full of sand, rooms are dirty and ran down. Staff is however very polite and is in a great location imo
WWisemanWilliamIt is what it is. An affordable place to stay. Not as glamorous or as new as other places but if you are on a budget and traveling it is a great place to stay.
