We stopped here on a return trip from visiting friends in Virginia. The hotel is at the foot of Lookout Mountain so the view is mostly trees but in a pleasant, quieter location outside of downtown Chattanooga. There is a Cracker Barrel on the same road just below the hotel. We easily drove back into town for supper at Carraba's. The lobby was very inviting with a mountain lodge feel and a crackling fire in the fireplace. We had a suite with separate sitting room and bedroom on the 3rd floor. Ask for a room facing the mountain - we had a view of the dumpster from our room. (Not mad about the dumpster - every hotel needs one. Just didn't think about asking for a specific view.) The room was very clean with one exception - some hairs left behind on the wall of the shower stall. The color pattern of the tile might have camouflaged them so that housekeeping overlooked them, and it was not a deal-breaker for us but might warrant some additional training for staff. The breakfast area was busy on a Tuesday morning, so much so that coffee and food items ran out and were being replenished by possibly the only worker responsible for the buffet. He was trying his hardest to stay caught up to the many guests and I suspect this was just a staffing problem, possibly someone not showing up to work the breakfast shift. Every hotel associate we encountered or spoke to was very polite and helpful. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it.

Our stay here was good and not-so good. We requested a ground floor room and that's what we got, which some hotels won't do if we arrive later in the day. We were able to park right at the door. Room and everything was pretty clean. The things we used worked well (refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer) but I didn't see an ironing board. TV worked fine. The shower worked well and had one of those shower curtain rods that gives you more room. The sink/counter area was large and separate from the toilet tub. The breakfast was okay with hot scrambled eggs & sausage, biscuits & gravy, packaged pastries, bagels, some cereal, juice, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, etc. There were washers and dryers in the room where the pool is. We didn't try the pool but it was large and indoors and looked nice. There was a $100 deposit and since we paid with a credit card, they said there would be no problem about having to pay it in cash. On the negative side: The room had an odor... not really smoke but something that wasn't particularly pleasant. The room felt very humid and ”sticky” despite the a/c working to lower the temperature. I didn't like the feel of the tile floors on my bare feet. There was no tissue in the tissue dispenser. Although there was room for a table and chair, there wasn't any. We ate our carry-out dinner sitting on the bed. Pillows were only okay and all were the same. Toilet/tub area was very small. No elevator for 2nd floor rooms.

Booked two rooms and stayed for one night with the family. The inn is located near the interstate and overlooked the mountain. Breakfast was very simple—pancakes, coffee, cereals. The pancake was very good. The rooms were clean in general but had a scent of an old room. Staff was friendly and checked in / out was fast. Breakfast could be better but overall it was good.
Room was clean and acceptable. Place looks like they've tried to make it look renovated with a slapped up coat of paint. Doors stick as the paint is too thick and definetly wasn't a professional job. One of our kids couldn't get out of the bathroom because of how tight the door was. Our room had a smoke alarm with the annoying low battery beeping. When we called the desk to have them replace the battery the lady said she couldn't and didn't know where the manager was. Then asked me to remove the battery which I did. When she came to the room she had me remove the smoke alarm and left with it. Never to return. The main issue I have with this place is the deceptive advertising. They advertise a ”king” bed and a ”double” bed room. If you look through the photo's it appears that the ”double bed” rooms are queen beds. Not so much. They call it double bed without any other description because they don't want to tell you its two full-size beds. Nowhere in any description does it specify the bed sizes other than the king beds available. They have ensured that by the angle/position of the photo's they advertise with, you wont be able to tell either. When I asked the guy at the front desk about this he only kept saying ”It doesn't say queen beds” which makes it pretty obvious they know it. Being a family of four, things become a bit cramped on full sized beds.
On the hillside, facing the Mount Lookout, you can see the scenery of the mountains, or you can see the Christmas lights of Mount Lucaw. The room we stayed in was not big, but it was quite comfortable. It is important to note that there are a number of hotel chains in the Fairfield Hotel. We must figure out the address before we check in. We didn't set up the GPS. We suddenly went to another hotel more than 20 kilometers away.
Hotel was clean. Room was clean. Air conditioning worked great. One light in bathroom was burned out, but no big deal, it was just an overnight stay. Had a full tasty breakfast. Had amenities close by. Logan's steakhouse, China buffet, and Walmart across the street. Cracker Barrell and Waffle House right around the corner. 10 minutes from downtown and other attractions. Friendly staff, would stay again.
The people at the desk were very friendly. The hotel was clean. Our bathroom had some mold in the shower they need to clean. I'm very allergic to mold, so are a lot of other people so it needs to be cleaned better. The price for one night on a weekend was excellent. The landscaping was beautifully done & the view gorgeous! We would definitely stay here again if we went to Chattanooga, TN.
